Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition variant now spotted on NBTC certification

Recently, both the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s standard edition were spotted on Thailand’s NBTC certification. Well, now, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s Leica Edition variant has also been spotted on the Thailand NBTC certification, suggesting that the trio could be heading for a launch in Thailand.

Here is more to it.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition spotted on NBTC

Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in two variants — one being the standard model and the other being the Leica Edition — in its home market back in December 2025. The standard variant had already appeared on the NBTC certification with the model number “2512BPNDAG”, and now the Leica Edition smartphone has also been listed on the same platform.

As per the certification, the model number “25128PNA1G” has received approval with the certification number “B38004-26”, and the moniker mentioned is “Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi”, instead of Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition. That said, this does point towards the same Leica Edition device, as the Chinese variant carries the same model number, with only the last alphabet changing from C to G for the global version.

On the certification listing, under the telecommunications equipment sub-category, it is mentioned as Cellular Mobile (GSM / WCDMA / LTE / NR). Other than this, the same model number has also been spotted on the IMDA certification database, which further hints that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra could launch in Singapore as well.

Speaking more about the device, both the standard and Leica Edition share the same specifications. However, the Leica Edition brings a few design-focused changes, including a Leica classic red label, engraved Leica branding, and a finely knurled mid-frame that resembles a camera body. There is also a master zoom ring for more precise control, while the variable frequency drive can reportedly be adjusted through rotation. The special edition model also supports a customisable function that allows users to tweak settings such as tidal compensation and self-balancing.

It offers Leica M9, Leica M3+, and MONOPAN 50 image quality modes. The device includes a Leica 1-inch Master of Light sensor and Leica 200MP optical zoom support.

Though Xu Fei (VP and CMO of Xiaomi Group) had earlier confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 series will launch globally, the exact global launch date is still missing.
