Xiaomi 17 Ultra Global Variant With Model Number “2512BPNDAG” Spotted on Indonesian SDPPI Database

Xiaomi 17 Ultra was recently launched in its home market, China, and came in two variants, the standard version and the Leica Edition. Well, now we have spotted the standard Xiaomi 17 Ultra variant on the SDPPI certification.
Here is more to it.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra spotted on SDPPI certification
This time, the SDPPI certification not only reveals the model number but also confirms the moniker. As per the SDPPI certification, the model number 2512BPNDAG has received approval on January 7th, 2026, with the certificate number “117306/DJID/2026”. Looking at the model number 2512BPNDAG, the “G” at the end signifies the global variant, while the Chinese version of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra carries the same model number but ends with “C” instead of “G”.

Now, this particular model number does not belong to the Leica Edition variant. The Leica Edition of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes with the model number 25128PNA1C and was recently spotted on Singapore’s IMDA certification database, where the same model number appeared with the last alphabet changed from “C” to “G”, indicating its global version.
While both variants are expected to share similar hardware specifications, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, the Leica Edition comes with additional camera-centric hardware, such as a master zoom ring that allows for precise focal adjustments, along with a variable frequency drive that can be fine-tuned via rotation.
So, it could be possible that Xiaomi may launch both variants of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra globally, or limit availability based on specific markets. Speaking more about the launch timeline, Xu Fei, VP and CMO of Xiaomi Group, has already confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 series will debut in 2026. However, no exact launch date or model lineup was revealed.
And looking at Xiaomi’s previous strategy of launching its numbered series outside China, the company is likely to introduce the vanilla Xiaomi 17 alongside the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in global markets, either with both variants available or in a market-specific configuration.
