Samsung reportedly introduces a new Secure Chat mode on its employee messaging platform to stop internal leaks

Whenever a new Samsung device is about to make its debut in the market, leaks related to the device start surfacing online before its official release, and sometimes the leaks are from Samsung employees’ internal chats as well.
To curb the issue of internal leaks, Samsung has reportedly introduced a new Secure Chat mode, which is not for Galaxy users but for its employee messaging platform.
Samsung introduces Secure Chat Mode
It is said that Samsung Electronics and other major Samsung Group affiliates have silently rolled out a Secure Chat mode inside their in-house messaging platform to stop the repeated leaks of sensitive internal discussions. This follows several recent incidents in which internal meeting materials, including sensitive instructions delivered during Samsung Electronics executive meetings, were posted in full on anonymous workplace platforms such as Blind and on internal anonymous boards.
According to reports, once a chat room is marked Secure Chat, features like copy & paste, message forwarding, screenshot and saving chat records to PC are blocked, while messages in these chat rooms are labelled as “Secure Chat.” It is revealed that the controls operate at the system level so that employees cannot bypass them with casual workarounds.
This new feature is designed to prevent the external exposure of internal business information and to protect employee privacy.
