Samsung Project Moohan XR Headset and its Controllers Certified by the FCC Authority: Few Key Details Also Revealed

The South Korean consumer electronics maker – Samsung collaborating with Google and Qualcomm is developing its very first XR headset and it is expected to hit the market by the end of this year. Following its previous listing on the Geekbench database, the upcoming and much-awaited device has now made it to the FCC certification platform of the United States. Along with the XR headset, its controllers have also received the certification.

Here’s more about it.

Samsung Project Moohan XR Headset and Controllers – FCC Certification

Samsung’s Project Moohan XR headset with the same model number of ‘SM-I610’ has also appeared on the FCC certification platform, and it has been certified with the FCC ID of ‘A3LSMI610’. The FCC database has listed it as a ‘portable device’ and classified it as a ‘Digital Transmission System (DTS)’, with maximum RF output power of ‘1.040 mW (0.17 dBM)’ and frequency range of ‘2402 ~ 2480 MHz’. Furthermore, it is revealed to support WiFi 7 and Bluetooth BR + EDR + LE modes. Also, its software/firmware version is mentioned as ‘I610UEU0AXGP’.

Coming to its controllers, it carries the model number of ‘ET-OI610’ and has received the FCC certification with the FCC ID of ‘A3LETOI610L’. The FCC report also mentions key details such as ‘V4.27’ software version, ‘V04’ hardware version, ‘Enhanced ShockBurst’ mode of operation, ‘2402 ~ 2480 MHz’ frequency range, ‘FPCB’ antenna type, ‘0.47’ dBI antenna gain, ‘GFSK’ modulation, and up to 79 channels. Notably, the device is also pointed out to feature a removable battery compartment too.

Speaking more, the earlier Geekbench listing revealed that the device would be using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, whereas the FCC database has now confirmed the availability of controllers as well. However, it still remains to be seen whether or not Samsung is planning to bundle it with its Project Moohan XR headset or to sell it separately like Apple. While the controllers will promise motion-sensing that can be used to play mixed reality games, Samsung has already confirmed that its Project Moohan headset will support both eye-tracking and hand-tracking features.

Regarding the launch, even though certain updates previously suggested that the launch could take place at the recently-held July 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event, it did not happen. Based on newer updates, the launch can be expected this year itself, likely by December 2025.

Stay tuned for more updates.
