Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Tipped to Feature ISOCELL HP2 Sensor with f/1.4 Aperture

We’re back with a fresh leak regarding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, and this time, it’s about the camera setup. Renowned tipster Ice Universe, known for accurate Samsung-related leaks, has claimed via his X (formerly Twitter) account that the S26 Ultra will feature a Samsung ISOCELL HP2 sensor with an f/1.4 aperture.

“Galaxy S26 Ultra Camera HP2 + F1.4 Confirmed,” he wrote in a recent post, hinting at not just a reused sensor, but one that could be significantly enhanced for better low-light performance, thanks to the wider aperture.

A wider f/1.4 aperture means the lens can capture more light, which directly benefits night photography and indoor shots. It also contributes to a shallower depth of field and better background blur.

Interestingly, Ice Universe had previously mentioned a “large aperture” in earlier leaks but did not reveal exact figures until now. He also referred to an “HP2 (2026)” sensor, suggesting that Samsung might be tweaking or improving the existing ISOCELL HP2 for next year’s flagship, possibly a refined version optimised for newer optics and processing.

Just to add, the Galaxy S25 Ultra featured the same HP2 sensor on its main camera but with a narrower f/1.7 aperture. The shift to f/1.4 in the S26 Ultra indicates a substantial optical improvement, especially in challenging lighting conditions.

Moreover, the leak indicates that Samsung could introduce a new 3x telephoto sensor, and more notably, a larger aperture for the 5x periscope lens, a move that could significantly improve zoom photography, particularly in challenging lighting conditions.

While these details are not officially confirmed by Samsung, the consistency and credibility of Ice Universe’s leaks suggest these upgrades are highly likely.
