Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge Reportedly Cancelled, Reason Being its Predecessor’s Unexpectedly Low Sales
Looking into earlier reports, the next Galaxy S26 series of Samsung was believed to include three smartphone models – Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, and the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ models were said to be dropped. Following this, early this month, Samsung was reported to be planning on reviving its Galaxy S26+ project and now, newer reports have started to arrive claiming that there won’t be a Galaxy S25 Edge successor this time.

Samsung Cancelling its Galaxy S26 Edge Smartphone?
According to the original report published by Newspim and shared by the X tipster @Jukanlosreve, Samsung is preparing itself to discontinue the ‘Edge’ model from its flagship smartphone line-up and the May 2025-released Galaxy S25 Edge could be the last. As earlier pointed out, the reason for this decision is quite evident and expected, and the South Korean smartphone maker seems to have no expectation for future Edge models. Checking sale charts, while the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra flagships attained good sales of 8.28 million, 5.05 million, and 12.18 million units respectively, the Galaxy S25 Edge only sold 1.31 million units over the past five months, and considering this the Galaxy S26 Edge may also probably have the same fate.
Additionally, two other reliable tipsters have also shared their updates regarding the Galaxy S26 Edge, again reiterating the brand’s discontinuation plan. The tipster @UniverseIce affirms that another independent source has confirmed that the Galaxy S26 Edge is definitely cancelled. On the other hand, the tipster @OnLeaks has shared the above update adding the GIF which states – ‘That’s True’.
So this means, the Galaxy S26 series that will be debuting early next year in 2026 (likely in February 2026) will only be having three smartphone models (Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26+, Galaxy S26 Ultra) just like before, with the standard model possibly re-branded or replaced with a pro model.
