Samsung Galaxy M17 5G spotted on Google Play Console with Exynos 1330, Android 15, 4GB RAM, and more

We recently heard about the Galaxy A17 5G being listed for pre-order by several online retailers in Europe. Now, it seems the company is preparing to launch another smartphone, the Galaxy M17 5G, also expected to be released as the Galaxy F17 5G. This upcoming, or rather rumoured, device has now been spotted on the Google Play Console.

Samsung Galaxy M17 5G Google Play Console

On the Google Play Console supported devices list, the Galaxy M17 5G and Galaxy F17 5G are listed with the model numbers SM-M176B and SM-E176B, respectively, while the device code is shown as “a17x”. However, the Google Play Console listing that reveals the specifications shows the model number SM-A176B with the moniker “Samsung Galaxy M17 5G,” while still using the a17x device code. All this indicates that the Galaxy M17 5G and Galaxy F17 5G will be rebranded versions of the Galaxy A17 5G.

The Google Play Console entry reveals that the device is powered by the s5e8535 SoC paired with a Mali-G68 GPU clocked at 950 MHz. It features two CPU clusters, comprising 2 cores at 2.4 GHz and 6 cores at 2.0 GHz, which points to the Exynos 1330 chipset. Other revealed specs include Android 15, 4GB of RAM, a 1080 x 2340 pixels display, and a 450 DPI screen density.

The design, via the Google Play Console listing, shows the same design as that of the Galaxy A17 5G, with a triple camera placed on a vertical, pill-shaped camera module. The front features an Infinity-U display.

With the model number and specifications matching those of the Galaxy A17 5G, it’s clear that the Galaxy M17 5G will essentially be a rebranded version of it. As Samsung often does, the Galaxy F17 5G will likely launch as a Flipkart exclusive, while the Galaxy M17 5G will be exclusive to Amazon India, both being identical devices under different names.

For reference, the Galaxy A15 5G, F15 5G, and M15 5G were all rebranded versions of each other. However, Samsung broke this trend last year when the Galaxy A16 5G featured a different design compared to the Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy F16 5G, even though the latter two were identical and sold exclusively through Amazon and Flipkart, respectively.
