The Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro earbuds device which carries the model number of ‘SM-R640’ has received the FCC certification with the FCC IDs of ‘A3LSMR640L’ and ‘A3LSMR640R’ respectively for the left (‘SM-R640L’) and right (‘SM-R640R’) earbuds units. It is categorized as a ‘Bluetooth headset’ and via the FCC database, specs which include 3.85V DC power supply, 2402MHz ~ 2480MHz Bluetooth frequency range, Bluetooth Classic (75.9%), Bluetooth Low Energy (84.1%, 40 channels), GFSK – π/4DQPSK – 8DPSK modulations, 79 channels, metal antenna, -7.75 dBi/-8.12 dBi antenna gain, ‘REV1.0’ hardware version, and ‘R640.001’ software version have been revealed for the device. Additionally, the antenna images of the left and right earbuds have also been listed on the certification database, with length and width of 0.9cm and 0.2cm respectively. Also, the FCC label will be on the charging case as the earbuds units are too small to feature it.

Speaking more, it has already been a year since the launch of the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro earbuds models, and the existence of the Galaxy Buds 4 (SM-R540) and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro (SM-R640) devices were pointed out through a previous One UI 8.5 leak (via Android Authority). A first look schematic design of the Galaxy Buds 4, as well as the design of the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, were revealed via the same source earlier. From what it seems, major design changes will be brought to Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro earbuds, both in terms of the charging case and the earbuds units. Notably, the FCC label page also reiterates the box-like shaped design for the charging case, replacing the previous pill-like design.
