Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro Appear in SIRIM, FCC, SGS and BIS Certifications, Indicating Imminent Launch

We first spotted the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro on the FCC database in late December, and now the Galaxy Buds 4 has also made an appearance. Alongside these FCC listings, both models have also shown up on India’s BIS certification, Malaysia’s SIRIM database, and SGS certification.

Here is more to it.

SIRIM confirms model numbers and branding

In Malaysia’s SIRIM database, the Galaxy Buds 4 is identified with the model number SM-R540, and the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro is listed as SM-R640. This confirms the model numbers and the branding, but doesn’t reveal any specifics about the earbuds’ features or hardware specs.

Galaxy Buds 4 FCC Listing

The FCC documentation for the Galaxy Buds 4 (model SM-R540) includes the Bluetooth IDs and confirms support for both Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth Low Energy. However, aside from confirming these basic connectivity features, the documents don’t provide details on Bluetooth versions, audio enhancements, or battery specs.

The FCC label diagram also shows the bottom view of the charging case, which appears to be a rounded square with smooth corners and a circular label area at the centre. This helps confirm the case’s design layout, but doesn’t give us a full picture of the final product’s look and feel.

Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro SGS certification

From the SGS listings, we know that the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro come with distinct charging case models (EP-QR540 and EP-QR640). This confirms that the earbuds and their cases are distinct models, but it doesn’t give us detailed information on battery capacity or charging speed.

Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro BIS certification

The BIS certification in India confirms that both the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro are being prepared for the Indian market.

While Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed the launch date yet, it’s likely that the Galaxy Buds 4 series will debut at the upcoming Galaxy event, which is rumoured to take place on 25th February 2026, alongside the launch of the Galaxy S26 series.
