Poco M8 Pro Again Tipped to Launch in January 2026; Leak Points to Camera Downgrade

Tipster Yogesh Brar had earlier suggested that the Poco M8 and Poco M8 Pro could launch early next year, likely in January 2026. Now, adding weight to that timeline, another tipster, Abhishek Yadav, has echoed the same launch window, atleast for the Poco M8 Pro. More importantly, he has also shared key specifications of the upcoming Poco M8 Pro, and frankly, it might not sit well with everyone.

Here is more ot it.

Poco M8 Pro Specs revealed

Initially, the Poco M8 Pro was expected to be a rebranded Redmi Note 15 Pro+, and the latest leak appears to confirm that. However, according to the tipster, Poco may drop the 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 4× optical zoom found on the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G(Global) and instead equip the M8 Pro with a 50MP primary camera. That’s a big downgrade on paper and certainly not what many were expecting. Of course, since this is based on leaks, it is best to take the information with a pinch of salt.

Moving on to the rest of the hardware, as per Abhishek Yadav, the Poco M8 Pro is said to feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, along with the Adreno 810 GPU. The device is expected to run Android 15, topped with HyperOS 2 for POCO.

In terms of cameras, the rear setup reportedly includes a 50MP main sensor alongside an 8MP ultra-wide lens, while the front houses a 32MP selfie camera. It is tipped to come with a 6,500mAh battery, supported by 100W fast charging via a USB Type-C 2.0 port.

Additional features tipped include an in-display fingerprint scanner, Wi Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an IR blaster, and IP68 rated dust and water resistance.

Lastly, the Poco M8 Pro has already been spotted on multiple certification platforms, including the UAE’s TDRA, the IMEI database, FCC, and IMDA, further confirming that the launch is nearing in the respective markets.
