New reMarkable Paper Tablet – FCC Certification
This new and upcoming paper tablet from reMarkable has been certified by the FCC authority with the FCC ID of ‘2AMK2-RM03AA’. As per the certification listing, the device is revealed to support connectivity specs such as Bluetooth with monopole antenna (2400 MHz ~ 2483.5 MHz, BR + EDR + LE), dual-band WiFi 6, and NFC (WPT).
Speaking more, the NFC WPT support that has been given on this FCC-listed paper tablet is not the same as a standard Qi wireless charging capability that offers 5W to 15W charging support, rather it is intended for ultra-low power charging only. Looking at real world applications, with the support of NFC WPT technology, the device will be able to charge a stylus quickly as well as a fitness tracker. Also, no battery is needed when the fitness tracker is simply used only for brief data transmission. It can also be used to power smart cards (such as access control cards) and a passive NFC-enabled device too with the support of this technology.
So far reMarkable has unveiled three paper tablets in the market, and these include the August 2017-released reMarkable 1, March 2020-released reMarkable 2, and the September 2024-released reMarkable Paper Pro. The new FCC-listed paper tablet from reMarkable may be arriving as its fourth model.
