Huawei Mate XT 2 Receives Telecommunications Equipment Access License From China’s MIIT Authority: 5G Network, Tiantong Satellite Connectivity, and More Revealed

Huawei’s next generation tri-fold smartphone device has now received the Telecommunications Equipment License from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, revealing a few of its connectivity specs.

The Huawei smartphone which carries the model number of ‘GRL-AL20′ has received the Telecommunication Equipment License, with the license number of ’00-D710-258877’. As per the listing, it is revealed to support 2G/3G/4G/5G network, Tiantong satellite communication, 5G enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), and HarmonyOS operating system. Looking at the previous Huawei Mate XT, it carried the model number of ‘GRL-AL10’, and thus the newly-listed Huawei device is believed to be the next Huawei Mate XT 2 tri-fold smartphone.

Speaking more, updates have already arrived claiming that Huawei is planning to unveil the Mate XT 2 foldable in the second half of this year – likely in September 2025, and the same launch event is also said to mark the launch of the FreeBuds 7i earbuds, FreeClip 2 earbuds, Watch GT 6 series smartwatches, and the MatePad Pro 12.2 2025 tablet. Regarding Huawei’s Mate XT 2, the notable upgrades will be in terms of its performance (either N-1 generation or Kirin 9020 series as per the same source) and camera capability (50MP new primary camera supporting variable aperture + periscope telephoto camera as per DCS). The display screens could be the same, and reportedly it may not be a full 2nd generation iteration of its predecessor.
