HMD ‘Pearl’ Smartphone Spotted on Geekbench, Revealing Unisoc Chip, Android 15 OS, and 4GB RAM: Likely the HMD Pulse 2 Pro

A new HMD-branded smartphone has now been spotted on the Geekbench database, and its performance related details have been revealed via the benchmark listing. From what it seems, the device is likely the upcoming HMD Pulse 2 Pro smartphone.

HMD ‘Pearl’ Smartphone – Geekbench Listing

This Geekbench-listed HMD smartphone has the codename of ‘Pearl’ and it has achieved 446 points and 1495 points respectively on the single-core and multi-core tests of the benchmark platform. Its 4GB RAM variant has been listed on Geekbench, and it runs on the previous Android 15 operating system. While the motherboard codename (ums9230_6h10) suggests that the device could be using a Unisoc T6xx-series chip (T606/T615/ T616), based on the core configuration (2x 1.82GHz-clocked cores + 6x 1.61GHz-cores), it is most probably going to be the Unisoc T7250 chip. Also to add, the ARM Mali-G57 GPU is also integrated onto the device.

Speaking more, even though HMD’s Pulse 2 Pro was earlier said to use the Unisoc T615 chip, along with a 6GB RAM choice, it could be the Unisoc T7250 chip that may be equipped within the device, and the now Geekbench-listed HMD ‘Pearl’ smartphone is likely the same HMD Pulse 2 Pro model.

It should also be noted that since the HMD Pulse 2 Pro is expected to offer both 4GB and 6GB RAM choices, when upgrading from Android 15, the device will only be getting the Android 16 Go Edition and not the full version of the latest Android OS. This is because, from previous reports, it has already been understood that Android 16 requires at least 6GB RAM to function, and considering that the HMD Pulse 2 Pro will possibly have a 4GB RAM option too, it will be getting the Android 16 Go Edition at the time of upgrading. However, it is also being said that the current semi-conductor price surge will bring back 4GB devices largely, and Google might reconsider its decision. Let’s wait and see.
