Here’s the List of Countries Where UPI is One Among the Mode of Payments

UPI or Unified Payments Interface as already known is a real-time and instant payment system that has been developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and by linking bank account(s), users can make transactions easily. Previously, we had reported that France has agreed to use India’s UPI system in the country. List of Countries Where UPI is an Accepted Payments Mode
As per reports, countries like Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Mauritius, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have adopted UPI system in addition to France, and users can pay via this mode of payment. Notably, Bhutan started accepting payments through UPI for the first time outside India, and France is the very first European country to accept it.
There are a few additional countries too where UPI integrations and discussions have taken place. Cyprus has adopted UPI system (via Eurobank Cyprus), as well as Oman (via Oman Central Bank). UPI payments are also being expanded across Kuala Lumpur and through the partnership with Liquid Group, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan, Cambodia, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Japan are also accepting UPI-based QR code payments. In the United Kingdom (UK), there is an ongoing discussion for UPI acceptance. While Russia has signed an agreement, due to the Ukraine conflict, it hasn’t yet been adopted.
Just to add, in order to use UPI outside India (UPI international feature), it has to be first activated within the app. The official limit is up to INR 2,00,000, however it might differ based on the app that is in use. Also, Forex charges or service fees may be incurred when making international UPI payments.
