Xiaomi, the Chinese consumer electronics maker, unveiled its Pad 6 tablet device last year back in the month of April 2023. Recent reports have been pointing to a change in the tablet’s update policy, suggesting that this tablet will only receive the Android 14 update and not Android 15, unlike what was said before.

A new update from a tipster on the Twitter/X platform has arrived which claims that the device will also be receiving the Android 15 update, as was promised.

The vanilla Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet was initially launched with the Android 13 based MIUI Pad 14 and at first was revealed to receive two major OS updates – Android 14 and Android 15. However, a noted change in the brand’s official website mentioned only the Android 14 update eligibility, and this led to doubts regarding whether the device was made ineligible for the Android 15 update.

As per the new update, a tipster has shared that the brand confirms that the Xiaomi Pad 6 will be receiving the Android 15 update as was promised to customers. In related news, it has also been reported that the AER or Android Enterprise Recommended devices will be affected by the change, and the Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet used by enterprises will not get the Android 15 update.

Xiaomi Pad 6 series after performing well in the home market in China and India has now been launched in Europe and UK. Xiaomi has kept the Pro model exclusive for China and has launched the Xiaomi Pad 6 in Europe and the UK. The tablet has been launched in the same three colors Gravity Gray, Gold, and Mist Blue. As far as its price is concerned it starts with the €399/£369 for the 6/128GB trim. The 8GB/128GB starts from €429 while the top-end 8/256GB version will sell for €449.

This tablet will go on sale from Monday, July 10 on Xiaomi’s online store and partner stores. Xiaomi is giving a free pair of Xiaomi Buds 3T Pro with Pad 6 purchased from its web store in the UK. Buyers will only be able to grab free buds with tablets if they place an order before 23:59 on July 16.

Xiaomi after the Chinese and the Indian launch of the Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet, is soon going to launch the latest tablet device in the European market. The update comes from the tipster, Ishan Agarwal (via Gizmochina) who has also shared that the tablet will be available in two storage options and two colour choices.

The Xiaomi Pad 6, as per what the tipster has stated, is expected to arrive in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB storage options and is likely to be made available in Blue and Grey colour choices. The brand won’t be launching the 8GB/128GB storage variant and the Gold colour variant. The 6GB/128GB is tipped to have a price of €399 whereas, the 8GB/256GB variant has been tipped to be priced at €499. The tipster has also added that in the UK market, the starting price of the Xiaomi Pad 6 will likely be €369.

As far as its other specifications are concerned, the tipster also mentions that the brand will be retaining the same specifications as the Xiaomi Pad 6 which was launched in the Chinese and Indian markets. It should also be noted that Xiaomi hasn’t officially announced or revealed anything about the European launch of the Xiaomi Pad 6 and we might have to wait to confirm all these.
