Wordle is still used often today, and Bill Gates has acknowledged his infatuation with it.

Given his status as co-founder of Microsoft, one of the biggest computing companies in the world, some people might not be surprised to find that Gates enjoys brain puzzles. He doesn’t claim to be the best Wordle player, but he has been quite dedicated to the game from the moment he first began playing it.

Bill Gates wrote a piece about Wordle, some of its ripoffs, and his own use of it that he posted on his website. Gates claims that in either February or March, he began incorporating Wordle into his morning routine. He searches for more brainteasers for the day on Wordle clones like Quordle and Octordle, but like many Wordle aficionados, he is limited by the fact that there is only one word accessible to guess each day on Wordle.

Wordle piques Gates’ curiosity, but not simply because it helps wake up the brain in the morning. Additionally, Gates says he enjoys Wordle’s social component, which allows him to regularly communicate with other users. Wordle’s popularity has increased since it allows users to share their findings without disclosing the day’s words. Fans can see how long it takes their friends to figure out the word and try to guess it faster to match or beat that score.

Gates has developed a somewhat detailed plan for utilizing Wordle, similar to the bulk of other people. He likes to start with words that have multiple vowels, like “Adieu” or “Ounce,” to see which ones are there. He enjoys thinking about common pairings of consonants when solving, such as “c” and “h,” which helps him logically reduce them. He admits that there have been times when he has run out of options after eliminating all but one letter, even if that one letter still contains a variety of potential answers.

Along with Wordle and a few of its similar offshoots, Gates also enjoys Nerdle, a game similar to Wordle that places an emphasis on math rather than language. Gates claims that his performance on Nerdle is marginally superior to that on Wordle. The Wordle formula has been applied to a wide variety of topics and themes, giving people like Gates a vast choice of options. Although Wordle may not be as popular as it once was, it is still easy to use and is likely to continue to be so for some time.

Just in the beginning of 2022, the game has taken over everyone by a new vision. Now, it has become the planets favourite word game. But, Wordle is a very simple game to play, but it has several killer features that have lifted it above its competitors.

Lets find out some of the game’s rule:

You can only play one puzzle a day

Everyone plays the same puzzle

You can share the game on social media

You have to guess a five letter word and you will be given six attempts. The each time you guess, you’re told which of your chosen letters are in the target word, and whether they are in the right place, that’s all, nothing much.

Where can you play Wordle:

New York Times Games site is your go to place. It was originally hosted on the Wordle website designed by creator Josh Wardle, but it moved when the NYT bought Wordle in early February 2022.

Moreover, there is no official app for the game, so even if you come across any of this sort, ignore, its completely fake.

Wordle is a popular word game. Josh Wardle is the developer of the game. It was released in October 2021. Of late, it is undergoing a lot of changes. For instance, New York Times purchases it in 2022. NYT adds it in its NYT gaming arsenal which already has games like spelling bee.

What is Wordle about?

Basically, the game is about guessing a word with five alphabets. A player gets six attempts to guess the word. The five lettered words in Wordle are presumably the most common five-lettered words in English language.

Wordle ported to Game Boy

A security researcher from Kotaku, Stacksmashing, has Wordle ported with Nintendo’s retro gaming console, Game Boy.

Game boy is a three decades old gaming console. It is as old as 1989.

Although, people keep porting the game to retro consoles. There may be more such ports in future.

Gamers experiment and endeavour to port games to as many platforms and consoles as possible. For e.g., New Doom is ported to many platforms.

How to play it on Game Boy?

Firstly, due to Game Boy’s smaller size, Stacksmashing could not accomodate all the words but only 8,000 commonly used ones in English.

Despite the fact that not many people might have Game Boy preserved with them, it’s available for download.

Once downloaded, it needs to be loaded on friendly cartridge to play it.

Thus, ready to play!

Links to the game:

Since, not many people might have Game Boy, Stacksmashing ports Wordle with something as modern as Analogue Pocket too!

Link for Nintendo’s Game Boy and Analogue Pocket: https://nezza.github.io/gbwordle/roms.html
