Followed by the flagship Dimensity 9400 chip, the Taiwanese semi-conductor company MediaTek is preparing to soon unveil the Dimensity 9400+ chip. Via a new update from a reliable tipster on the Weibo platform, the expected launch time frame of the chip has been revealed. Moreover, OPPO and Vivo are said to be the first smartphone makers to launch devices featuring the latest and upcoming MediaTek chip.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ Chip – Expected Launch Time Frame and First Devices to Feature it

This update comes from the Weibo tipster – Digital Chat Station, who in his post notes that many new straight screen phones equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chip are in works and will be released. MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ chip (X925) is also pointed out to have attained a primary clock speed of 3.7 GHz at present and it is tipped to launch in March 2025, two months later. Furthermore, two smartphone makers are revealed to launch devices featuring this latest MediaTek Dimensity chip first, and from what it seems, they are believed to be OPPO and Vivo.

The small straight screen light weight periscope telephoto phone is likely the OPPO Find X8 mini (OPPO Find X8S is also said to use the same processor), whereas the large straight screen camera phone with all round ultrasonic fingerprint reader is possibly the Vivo X200s model (older updates suggested it to use the same Dimensity 9400 chip which powers the already launched X200 series devices). To add, the Find X8 mini is tipped to have a 6.3″ display screen, and on the other hand the X200s model is expected to offer a 6.67″ display.

Both these OPPO and Vivo smartphones are suggested to launch in the earlier half of this year itself in 2025 and we can expect the two brands to announce the launch following the release of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chip. Stay tuned.

Following the three X200 series flagship launch in October 2024, Vivo is reportedly going to launch two more smartphones to the series. Now, what seems to be the specifications of one of the upcoming devices has been shared online by a Chinese tipster on the Weibo platform.

Vivo X200s Series Smartphone – Tipped Key Specs

This update comes from the tipster – Digital Chat Station who has via his Weibo post revealed the key specs of this upcoming Vivo X200s series smartphone (based on the current engineering machine). As per his post, this device may use the same Dimensity 9400 chip and is believed to feature a 6.67″ LTPS pure-straight narrow-edged display screen with 1.5K resolution. It is likely also going to have a metal middle frame and glass body according to the tipster.

Speaking more, a 50MP + 50MP +50MP triple rear camera system has also been tipped, with one of them being a Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens supporting 3x zoom. 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and wireless charging capability have also been suggested. Moreover, a 6K± super large silicon battery could be backed within the device and it may also support a 90W wired fast charge feature too.

Previously we came across tipster Smart Pikachu’s update which had mentioned the arrival of two more X200 series smartphones next year, and these were tipped to come with 1.5K and 2K micro-curved straight display screens with large form factor design. So based on this, it can be assumed that the device Digital Chat Station is talking about maybe the upcoming X200s model.

Vivo, the Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer, has already debuted its X200 series and two of the latest flagships are soon going to hit global markets as well. Now, via Smart Pikachu’s Weibo update, unlike what was believed before, it has been revealed that Vivo might be planning to launch two more new X200 series smartphones.

Two New X200 Series Smartphones in Works?

As mentioned, this update comes from the Chinese tipster – Smart Pikachu, and he in his Weibo post notes that the X200 series is going to have two more new smartphones next year with 1.5K and 2K display screens respectively. Additionally, the tipster again points out that the two may be featuring larger form factors along with straight and micro-curved displays.

If we look into the previous X100 series, it was first unveiled in November 2023 with the vanilla X100 and X100 Pro models, and later was joined by the X100s, X100s Pro, and X100 Ultra models in May 2024.

This time’s X200 series was unveiled last month in October 2024 with three smartphone models – X200, X200 Pro, and X200 Pro mini (first Pro mini version of X-series). Reports have also arrived pointing to the release of the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered X200 Ultra.

One more thing to add here is that, the previous X100 and X100 Pro devices had an issue with their chin, which was believed to be the reason why the X100s and X100s Pro smartphones were launched. [Vanilla X s models such as the X90s device have been released before too].

Considering the above details and the assumptions of the tech world, these tipped smartphones are likely the next X200 series ‘s’ models (probably coming as the solutions to the glare problem). More updates might be on their way, and with which, we may get a better clarity on the upcoming X200 series smartphone models that are launching next year.
