The Teletoon brand will survive through the streaming service Teletoon+.

For 26 years, the kid’s channel was treasured and cherished as home to the nation’s leading animations like Total Drama Island, Braceface and Caillou, shaping Canada’s children entertainment across generations.

On Mar 27, Teletoon will officially ride off into the sunset as it will drop its branding and adopt Cartoon Network’s branding moving forward.

To avoid any confusion, the channel currently listed as Cartoon Network on Canadian providers will also rebrand as Boomerang. Debuting in the Canadian market for the first time, but bringing with it scores of fans worldwide, the Boomerang brand stands for the best in retro content, classic animation series, and foundational kids’ programming.

Hence, to explain it more specifically, at the beginning of March 27, Teletoon is set to become Cartoon Network, an iconic kids’ brand known worldwide for delivering the biggest and best in animation. In addition, Corus will also introduce a new kids’ television channel in Canada by relaunching the current Cartoon Network channel as Boomerang.

Though Teletoon is only dying in name, Canadians still expressed their nostalgia on social media to pay homage to the legacy network that provided many kids—and animation aficionado adults—countless hours of entertainment both after school and on sleepless nights.
