Sharp Business Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd, has today announced the launch of a new range of window air conditioners in India, including the country’s first window AC with active air purification powered by its patented Plasmacluster technology. The new lineup includes the Ryohu (inverter) and Ryohu-FS (fixed-speed) models.

Ryohu Inverter Window AC Series (Top Throw)

It is offered in a 1.45-ton configuration with a cooling capacity of 5100W and is available in both 3-star and 5-star energy ratings. Designed to perform in Indian summer conditions, the range supports cooling in ambient temperatures of up to 52 degrees Celsius. It incorporates twin motor technology along with turbo mode to enable faster cooling, while Coanda airflow and 4-way auto swing help ensure more uniform air distribution across the room.

There are multiple operating modes- auto, cool, dry and fan. The range also includes a 4-in-1 convertible mode that enables users to adjust cooling capacity across different levels, helping optimise energy consumption. The ACs are equipped with a touch panel acrylic display and LED indicators for ease of operation, along with features such as auto-restart and an energy-saving mode to support convenient day-to-day use.

Select models are also equipped with SHARP’s Plasmacluster technology, which helps reduce bacteria, viruses, allergens, and odours, thereby improving indoor air quality while cooling.

Ryohu Fixed-Speed Window AC series

It is available in capacities ranging from 1.41 tons to 1.70 tons, with cooling capacities between 4950W and 5975W, and is offered in 2-star and 3-star energy ratings. The range is designed to deliver dependable and heavy-duty cooling performance suited for everyday use.

Built to operate in high ambient temperatures of up to 52 degrees Celsius, the series combines turbo cooling with long air throw of up to 18 metres, enabling effective cooling across larger spaces. There are multiple operating modes- auto, cool, dry, and fan provide flexibility in usage across different conditions.

Across both inverter and fixed-speed models, SHARP has focused on durability and ease of use, with features such as 100% copper condensers, anti-corrosion coating, dust filters and auto-restart functionality. The range also uses eco-friendly R32 refrigerant and is built in line with SHARP’s Japan 7 Shield framework. All models come with a 5-year comprehensive warranty, while Ryohu (Inverter) also has a 10-year compressor warranty.

Availability

Ryohu FS (Fixed-Speed) starts from Rs 34,390, and Ryohu (Inverter) top throw starts from Rs 39,990. These models are available at leading retail outlets and online platforms across India.

Last year in October, Sharp officially introduced its AQUOS Sense 9 smartphone in the Japanese market, and now, just after a year, the brand has unveiled its AQUOS Sense 10 device. The device will be released in the country on 13th November, and will subsequently be available in Taiwan, Indonesia, and Singapore.

Sharp AQUOS Sense 10: Features

The smartphone is equipped with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC that improves CPU performance by approximately 20% (compared to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC), GPU performance by approximately 40%, and AI performance by approximately 30%. It features a 6.1-inch Pro IGZO OLED display that offers FHD+ screen resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz variable refresh rate, and 1500 nits peak brightness.

It is backed by a 5000 mAh battery, and users can enjoy up to 2 days of use with 10 hours of daily usage from a full charge. The device packs a 50.3MP standard and wide-angle camera on the rear side, while on the front, it features a 32.0MP selfie camera. It runs on Android 16 OS. There are two storage options: 6/128GB and 8/256GB.

Other features include NFC, facial recognition, fingerprint authentication, Bluetooth 5.2, dual box speakers, 8 new Photo Style filters, AI features to enhance camera quality and call clarity, MIL-STD-810H, IPX5/IPX8/IP6X.

The smartphone comes in Denim Navy, Khaki Green, Pale Pink, Pale Mint, Full Black, and Light Silver. There will be six silicone cases that match the device colors, as well as special cases created in collaboration with the sneaker brand SPINGLE. Furthermore, Sharp-certified accessories will feature cases designed with denim fabric in collaboration with denim brands KOJIMA GENES and BLUE SAKURA.

Yesterday Sharp launched its latest Smart Air Purifiers and home appliances in the Indian market and today the company has unveiled two new devices- Aquos R9 Pro and Aquos Sense 9 in the Japanese market. Let’s dive in to know the features of these devices.

Aquos R9 Pro

This smartphone features Vario-Summicron camera system designed by Leica with approx. 50.3MP standard camera that supports OIS, a 50.3MP wide-angle camera, 50.3MP telephoto camera that comes with OIS support as well. While on the front it features an approx 50.3MP selfie camera. Other camera features are- a 14-inch spectral sensor, Dolby Vision video capture, and ProPix image quality engine there is also a shutter key present on the device that can be used to press and hold to start the camera, lock focus, adjust the zoom ratio, and much more.

It is equipped with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC and comes with Snapdragon Smart AI features. It is backed by a 5000mAh battery. It comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The device features a 6.7-inch Pro-IGZO OLED display that offers 240Hz maximum operation, Quad HD+ resolution, and Blue light reduction. It is said to receive a maximum of 3 OS upgrades and 5-year security updates. It weighs 229g and measures approx. 162x78x9.3mm. A few other features include- face recognition, fingerprint recognition, IPX5, IPX8/IP6X rating, Bluetooth 5.4, nano-SIM/eSIM,  Dolby Vision Atmos, Broadcast function, full metal box speaker, and dual thermo management system. It comes in a Black color option.

The pricing details for this device are yet to be announced but the device is available for reservations.

Aquos Sense 9

The device comes with simple free-form curves and a distinctive camera layout. It complies with MIL standards. This is the first smartphone in the Aquos Sense series to feature a Pro IGZO OLED display that measures 6.1 inches and offers 2000 nits peak brightness, blue light suppression, and 240Hz maximum resolution. It is backed by a 5000 mAh battery that is said to offer 10 hours of use per day. It comes with a unique Intelligent Charge function. The device is equipped with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. It is said to receive 3 OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates.

It offers up to 256GB internal storage and up to 8GB RAM. The smartphone packs up a dual rear camera setup that includes- 50.3MP main and wide-angle cameras while on the front it features approx. 32MP selfie camera. Camera features include- Smart EIS for stable video recording, palm-sized photos, and a ProPix image quality engine. Other features are- face recognition, fingerprint recognition, easy data copy, stereo speakers, 6GB virtual RAM, nano-SIM/eSIM, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C port., Measures against nuisance calls, IPX5/IPX8/IP6X rated. It weighs 166 and measures approx. 149x73x8.9mm. The device comes in six color options including a unique bicolor and simple monotone- Blue, Greige, Coral, Green, White, and Black.

This device is priced at 64,900 Yen and is available via NTT Docomo, Soft Bank, au, Rakuten Mobile, UQ Mobile, and J:Com.

Sharp India has introduced its PureFit series of air purifiers alongside new ranges of washing machines and refrigerators. The air purifiers, featuring Plasmacluster technology, are priced at Rs 51,999 for FX-S120, Rs 24,990 for FP-S42M-L, and Rs 19,990 for FP-S40M-T/W.

The FX-S120 comes with an Electrostatic HEPA Filter capturing 99% of particles as small as 0.02 microns and includes an Activated Carbon Filter. All models feature Coanda Airflow Technology for even air distribution and include six operational modes with a Quiet Mode for night use.

The locally manufactured PureWave series washing machines, starting at Rs 9,500, feature Japan’s 7 Shield technology, Quadroniq Pulsators, HydroBlast technology for tough stains, and Wave Dry Ring technology. They come with additional features like Toughened Glass, Soft-Close Lid, and Hydro Shield Panel.

Sharp has also launched single and double door refrigerators starting at Rs 14,990, offering Toughened Glass Shelves and Stabiliser Free Operation with Japan’s 7 Shield technology.

The Japanese electronics company Sharp filed a litigation case against Xiaomi in the year 2022 for its wireless communication technologies and now after 2 years both the companies have finally come to a mutual agreement.

As officially announced by Sharp, “Based on good faith negotiations Sharp Corporation and Beijing Xiaomi Software Co.Ltd. have reached on cross patent licenses relating to Wireless Communication Technologies of parties.” This cross-license agreement will now end the litigation case that was going on between the two.

Till now Sharp has licensed standard essential patents for wireless communication technologies to many leading companies in the telecommunications equipment and automotive industries in Japan, the USA, Europe, China, and South Korea. The company promises that it will continue to grant its standard essential patent licenses to any other parties by expanding the number of licenses under fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory conditions.

At the beginning of this year, Sharp also signed a patent cross-license agreement with Motorola relating to the wireless communication technologies of both parties. The company has signed similar deals with Oppo, Vivo, and Huawei. Sharp’s 3G/4G/5G SEP portfolio now includes more than 6,000 patents which is said to provide value to 3G/4G/5G products.
