Vincent H Pala, the Meghalaya Indian National Congress president and member of Lok Sabha from Shillong demanded that the Meghalaya Regulation Gaming Act 2021 should be repealed on Saturday. This has come after similar demands were made from all quarters.

Moreover, there are two Lok Sabha in Meghalaya, one of which is held by Congress.

A detailed discussion was held by the Meghalaya assembly in the recent concluded assembly session, regarding the gaming law itself. According to James K Sangma, minister in charge of taxation, the physical gaming premises were not meant for the general public but majorly for the upper value individuals.

As per reported by the Shillong Times, Pala said, “The government has to withdraw (the Act) otherwise the coalition will be in the street and the public will be in the Assembly one day.”

He then further added, “Almost every society, church, and organisation are opposed to it. The government is in a hurry to pass, and the chief minister very enthusiastically said that I am the leader of the gambling committee.”

Furthermore, he questioned, “If they are not getting revenue from all the resources, what revenue will they generate from gambling? Have they put it in the public domain or given any blueprint?” He remarked, “I don’t think the people will allow it and if the public is not happy, what revenue will they generate.”

Afterwards Pala said the opposition to the decision concerning legalised gambling was always present and that this issue was not the first time.

As far as a political messaging war rages over $80 billion in new IRS (Internal Revenue Service) funding, an American Treasury official is pushing back on an informal estimation that the money could cause American people earning less than $400,000 to pay as much as $20 billion more in taxes over a decade.

The Republicans have seized on the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimate, claiming that President Joe Biden who recently enacted, sweeping tax, drugs and climate law would not break his pledge to increase taxes on middle-class Americans.

When the bill, officially known as the Inflation Reduction Act, was being spoken in the Senate, Republican Senator Mike Crapo introduced an amendment which prohibits any sort of funds to audit Americans with taxable incomes below $400,000.

Moreover, the proposed amendment would reduce revenues by $20 billion over a decade if it was enacted, said office officials of Mike Crapo. The amendment was refused on a party-line vote.

“The CBO estimate assumed a threshold of $400,000 in reported taxable income before any audits, which would exclude the middle class”, claimed Natasha Sarin, Treasury Department counselor for tax policy and administration.

The people making $400,000 and above include far wealthier people who have hidden their incomes to lower taxable incomes below $400,000, sometimes even to zero — the very people the Treasury is seeking to target for audits, added Sarin.

Permission for a new Google plan to avoid spam classification for campaign emails was granted by the Federal Election Commission granted. Axios in June made Google’s proposal public, which stated that candidates, political party committees, and leadership political action committees would be eligible to apply for the program that would exempt their messages from Gmail’s spam detection algorithms. Google sought a vote earlier this summer to ensure that the program wouldn’t compromise current election laws, even though the FEC didn’t need to approve the program before it could be implemented. On Thursday, the FEC declared Google’s strategy to be legal.

Google announced its plans for political filtering not long after a recent study found that it was disproportionately flagging Republican fundraising emails as spam when compared to those of Democratic politicians and candidates. The study infuriated the GOP, caused a storm of criticism, and led to Kent Walker, Google’s senior legal officer, receiving an invitation to a closed-door meeting on Capitol Hill to talk about the company’s filtering decisions.

Having agreed to the compromise, Google disputed the study’s findings, claiming that it only examined a small sample of emails and failed to determine if campaigns utilized the pertinent bulk emailing features already included in the service.

Donald Trump’s presidential campaigns have come under fire for using spammy tactics in their fundraising emails, frequently using misleading subject lines, or copying conversations that voters could have with friends and relatives online. After the FBI had earlier in the week investigated Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, Dr. Mehmet Oz, a Republican running for the US Senate in Pennsylvania, came under fire on Tuesday for sending a fundraising email to supporters with the subject line “FBI RAID – BREAKING INFORMATION.”

Google will soon allow campaigns like Oz’s to qualify for the program and ensure that their emails won’t be screened out of a user’s inbox despite using spam-like practices and language thanks to the FEC’s decision on Thursday.

Travis McMichael is the first of three men who chased and killed Ahmaud Arbery in a Georgia neighbourhood in 2020 was sentenced on Monday to life in prison for his hate crime.

Travis McMichael had killed Arbery with a shotgun after the street chase was initiated by his father and joined by one of his neighbor, was the first of the three defendants to be sentenced on Monday. The U.S. District Court Judge Lisa Godbey Wood scheduled back-to-back hearings to individually sentence each of the defendants.

The McMichaels and Bryan faced possible life sentences after a jury had convicted them in February because of federal hate crimes, saying that they violated Arbery’s civil rights and targeted him because of his race.

Moreover, both McMichaels have been denied any chance of parole, “give you a backstop in the event that an appellate court decides there was some kind of error in the course of the state trial,” said Michael Moore, an Atlanta lawyer and former U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Georgia.

However, the McMichaels have told the police they had suspected Arbery had been stealing from a nearby house under construction.

Although, authorities later concluded he was unarmed and had committed no crimes. Arbery’s family also has long insisted he was merely out jogging.

Abdul Razaque Theba, third secretary and intelligence envoy, had already issued a memo to the embassy’s staff informing them of the country’s Foreign Ministry notice addressing “Action Plan for You” dated July 9, 2022. E-Istehsal will take place on August 5, 2022. (Article 370 Repeal Day). The Pakistani embassy uses its influence to organize the protest against India and secure the participation of speakers from Sweden’s Riksdag.

Women and children must be used as a front to win the approval of Swedish politicians. Pakistan has demonstrated the strength of its lies, propaganda, and lobbying by producing sealed cases and introducing motions on the Kashmir issue in the Swedish Riksdag. As a result of continued Pakistani propaganda and lobbying, political leaders from the OIC, Sweden, the UK, and numerous other EU countries have belatedly dabbled in opining on India’s internal affairs and bringing up the Kashmir issue. They frequently work with Pakistan, which results in rants against India.

On August 5, 2019, the Indian Parliament repealed Article 370 of the Apartheid Act, opening the door for equal rights for all J&K citizens. Articles of Indian law that supported Wahhabism and Islamic extremism, promoted secession, outlawed equality, operated more like Sharia law and were responsible for the ethnic murder of 500,000 Kashmiri Pandits enjoy false support from a country that still defers to monarchy. It is terrible that the authoritarian tyranny in Pakistan’s ongoing genocide against the people of Gilgit, Skardu, Balochistan, and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir continues to be unacknowledged. Pakistan felt secure enough to engage in these actions without fear of repercussions as a result.

A country currently caught in the web of Islamists is Sweden. Swedish cities have fallen into a pit of Islamist violence as a result of the left’s multiculturalism fantasies and unrestricted immigration. The Muslim Council of Sweden is the most powerful Muslim group in Sweden (SMR). There are rumors that the Swedish governing party, the “Sveriges religiosa social democrats” (STS), and SMR have a written agreement to assist the latter’s political influence in Sweden. Due to political pressure and the country’s growing Muslim population, politicians now support Islamists.

In 2022, India won’t be listed at all on the Swedish arms export list. Due to India’s rejection of the all-powerful Swedish arms manufacturers and Pakistan’s emergence as one of the top arms importers, certain politicians in Sweden may be sympathetic to Pakistani propaganda. Sweden claims it limits the supply of military equipment to “non-democratic” countries and raises awareness of human rights violations in the recipient country. But it still sends military equipment to a non-democratic country like Pakistan.

The United States CEOs of social media companies to appear at the US Congress, with the explicit intent to pressure and coerce them to censor more content from their platforms. This is for the third time in less than five months, a situation of this sort has occurred.

On March 25, the House Energy and Commerce Committee will interrogate Twitter’s Jack Dorsey, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Google’s Sundar Pichai at a hearing which the Committee announced will focus “on misinformation and disinformation plaguing online platforms.”

“This hearing will continue the Committee’s work of holding online platforms accountable for the growing rise of misinformation and disinformation” said the Committee’s Chair, Frank Pallone, and two Chairs of Subcommittees holding the hearings, Mike Doyle and Jan Schakowsky.

However, there is no question that the First Amendment does not permit indirect censorship through regulatory and legal threats.

“We must begin the work of changing incentives driving social media companies to allow and even promote misinformation and disinformation. Big tech has failed to acknowledge the role they’ve played in fomenting and elevating blatantly false information to its online audiences.” said the Committee in a statement.

Following this, Tesla owner Elon Musk made a tweet saying, “Can you say more about this: “…. pressures that the government may have placed on Twitter …”
