POCO has finally launched the POCO F6 series in the global market and the POCO F6 smartphone in India. The smartphone comes with some impressive features, design, and AI features that are no less than a debut in the AI era for the company. Let’s get to know about these phones in detail.

The display has been certified by TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light. On the rear side, it features a dual Sony camera setup with OIS support. The POCO F6 smartphone is the first POCO smartphone to come with an AON feature that enables smart lock detection, smart rotating detection, and smart AOD. The POCO F6 Pro smartphone features a 120Hz WQHD+ Flow AMOLED display with up to 4,000 units of peak brightness, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and TUV Rheinland-certified. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with up to 16GB LPPDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. It also features Wildboost Optimization 4.0 and Liquidcool Technology 4.0 for better optimizations. This smartphone also comes with some cool AI features like AI Portrait, AI Expansion, AI Magic Erase Pro, AI Album search, and AI Subtitles. These features will soon be reaching the POCO F6 users. In the camera department, the smartphone comes with a 50MP triple camera system on the rear and features like 8K video recording, and Burst Shot Mode 2.0. Buyers can get up to Rs 2,000 instant discount on ICICI Bank Credit and Debit cards and EMI transactions. Buyers can also get an additional Rs 2,000 discount as exchange value. As day one exclusive offer buyers will get an additional year of warranty. The smartphone’s first sale will start on Flipkart on 29th May, at 12:00PM.

POCO recently confirmed the launch date of the POCO F6 smartphone in India which is 23rd May at 04:30 PM IST. As soon as this announcement came its microsite went live on Flipkart though did not reveal much about it. Now the company and Qualcomm have confirmed that the POCO F6 5G smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset thus making it the first smartphone in India to be powered by this chipset.

A number of smartphones have already made their debut in the global market with this chipset though in India POCO is going to be first.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset is a 4nm core chipset whose prime core is clocked at 3.0GHz, four performance cores with a peak clock speed of 2.8GHz, and three efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz. This processor supports up to 24GB of LPDDR5x memory at up to 4200MHz and UFS 4.0 storage. It also supports more than 30 on-device generative AI models including Gemini Nano, Llama 2, and Baichuan-7B. The POCO F6 5G smartphone is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 3. And if that comes out to be true it can come with a 6.7-inch 1.5K (1,220×2,712 pixels) resolution OLED display. In the camera department, the smartphone is already confirmed to come with a 50MP main rear camera with OIS support. It can come with an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and on the front side we can get to see a 20MP selfie camera. It can be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging.

The microsite reveals that the smartphone features a rear design similar to the Redmi Turbo 3 smartphone. The device will be arriving with a 50MP main rear camera with OIS support. While the device will be arriving in a Gold color option. Other than this not much is revealed but in the coming days, the company might tease a few key specs of the smartphone.

However since POCO F6 5G is expected to be the rebranded version of Redmi Turbo 3 we may see similar specs in both smartphones.

Several reports have claimed that the Poco F6 series of smartphones will debut this month (May) in the global market. The Poco F6 has consistently gained certifications in a few countries. The handset has already been spotted in the databases of Singapore’s IMDA, India’s BIS, and Geekbench. Now, the device has received approval from Thailand’s NBTC authority.

In March, the Poco F6 Pro, identified with model number 23113RKC6G, was approved by the NBTC certification platform. Now, the Poco F6 with 24069PC21G model number has bagged approval from the NBTC. This indicates that the Poco F6 series may hit the Thai market as early as this month.

The letter “G” at the end of the model numbers of both phones signifies that they are global versions. Redmi announced the Redmi K70 Pro in December 2023 and unveiled the Redmi Turbo 3 last month. These phones, which are exclusively available in the Chinese market, may get rebranded as the Poco F6 Pro and the Poco F6 in the global market.

This device is now pointed out to arrive equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, just like the recently launched Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro device.

About the cameras, the POCO F6 smartphone is revealed to feature a 50MP Sony IMX882 wide main camera sensor, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultrawide camera sensor, and an OmniVision OV20B40 front camera sensor. Recent reports had suggested that the device may have a 2MP macro lens too, but it is still in doubts.

Xiaomi’s upcoming POCO-branded smartphone – the POCO F6 has appeared on the IMEI database. The model numbers of this device have also been revealed, which also suggest that it is possibly going to be the rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13 Turbo.

As per the IMEI database listing, the POCO F6 will be carrying two model number – “24069PC21G” and “24069PC21I”. The “G” and “I” in the model numbers also point out that these are the global and Indian versions. The Redmi Note 13 Turbo has a similar model number of – “24069RA21C” and this China-exclusive device will be rebranded as the POCO F6 for the global and Indian markets. [Do note that the POCO F6 is said to not be unveiled in the Japanese market.]

Along with the IMEI Listing, the upcoming POCO F6 device has also appeared on Mi Code and its codename is revealed to be “Peridot”. The device is also said to use a much more powerful processor when compared to the POCO F5 which used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset(tweaked Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1). As per what has been shared, the upcoming POCO F6 may have the Qualcomm chipset bearing the model number – “SM8475”, likely to be called as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
