Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo has launched a new entry-level 5G smartphone in its A series, called the Oppo A1x. Priced at around ¥1500 (~$220), the device offers some basic features but falls short compared to similar offerings from competitors like Redmi and Realme.

The Oppo A1x boasts a flat frame design and comes in black and blue color options. It features two circular camera modules and a 6.56-inch HD+ (1612 x 720 pixels) LCD display with a dewdrop notch. The display supports up to a 90Hz refresh rate, 600 nits peak brightness level, and 100% sRGB color gamut.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. It runs on ColorOS 12 based on Android 12.

The camera setup on the Oppo A1x consists of a 13MP (wide) + 2MP (depth) rear camera system and an 8MP front-facing camera. Other features of the phone include a MicroSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The phone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for standard 10W charging. It comes in two memory configurations: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB, priced at ¥1,399 and ¥1,599, respectively.

However, compared to its competitors, the Oppo A1x falls short in terms of features and value for money. While it may appeal to some budget-conscious users, those seeking better performance and features may want to consider other options in the market.
