The OnePlus 12R smartphone came with the claim that the 256GB version comes with UFS 4.0 storage. This claim should have come out as faster read and write speeds for an efficient performance. Unfortunately users didn’t find the same with the variant and raised the issue about the lower read and write speeds of the variant.

Finally the company has admitted the mistake and has given the satisfactory response for the users. The President and COO of OnePlus wrote on the OnePlus community app “I’m writing today to let you know that we have made a mistake in our communications for OnePlus 12R and to explain what happens next”.

“During the launch of the OnePlus 12R, we announced Trinity Engine, a new set of software algorithms that help keep your phone’s memory and storage running fast and smooth for years to come. Due to an error, we stated that the storage enhanced by Trinity Engine would be UFS 4.0 in some variants. I can now confirm that the storage in all variants of the OnePlus 12R is still enhanced by Trinity Engine but is actually UFS 3.1”.

Other than admitting the mistake Kinder also announced the step that they have taken to resolve the issue of buyers. He wrote that users who want can get a refund for their 256GB storage version. However it can only be done until March 16.
