Yuzvendra Chahal has responded hilariously to a video in which India captain Rohit Sharma can be heard chastising Chahal for being lazy while changing his fielding positions.

When the game was heading towards an exciting conclusion, the India skipper wanted to make sure that the pacers and spinners were working together in tandem. While Rohit Sharma was adjusting his fielders, Chahal seemed to be unhappy with how he changed positions.

During the second one-day international against the West Indies in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, Rohit shouted at Chahal on the stump microphone.

“Peecha jhaa. Kya hua tereko? Bhaag kyun nahi raha hai theek se? Chal udhar bhaag (What happened to you? Why aren’t you running properly? Go and field there),” Rohit told Chahal, as captured on the stump microphone.

Fans have shared the video repeatedly across different platforms and it has gone viral on social media. Yuzvendra Chahal responded with a hilarious response to Rohit Sharma’s video.

“Captain Ka Hukum Sarankhon Par,” wrote the Haryana native.

Recently reassigned to the Indian team’s white-ball plans after missing out on the T20 World Cup in 2021, leg-spinner Chahal was criticized for his poor bowling in the recent ODI series in and against South Africa, where he failed to pick up wickets in the middle overs and even failed to contain the batters.

However, against the West Indies, Chahal has returned with a vengeance on the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad pitch, which has aided him a lot. As well as picking up four wickets, he was also named Player of the Match in the first ODI. After that, he picked up one wicket in the second ODI, but gave up only 45 runs in his 10-over spell, creating pressure on the batsmen.

India leads the series 2-0 ahead of the third and final ODI on February 11. After that, the two teams will play three T20Is at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Deepak Hooda, an Indian batsman all-rounder, made his One Day International (ODI) debut in the first match of the three-match series against West Indies on Sunday, February 6 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Hooda was called up for the West Indies ODI series because India needed a batsman who could also bowl, as Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are not fully fit, and both have not been included in the team.

India defeated West Indies by six wickets in the first one-day international in Ahmedabad thanks to Yuzvendra Chahal’s clinical bowling and Rohit Sharma’s fine hitting. Rohit scored his 44th ODI fifty and added 84 runs for the opening wicket with Ishan Kishan. As soon as the Indian captain was dismissed on 60(51), Virat Kohli too returned to the pavilion on 8. Rishabh Pant ended up being the last batter out on 11(9) as Ishan scored 28(36). With Suryakumar Yadav’s 34 runs (36 balls) and Deepak Hooda’s 26 runs (32 balls), the hosts snatched the victory in just 28 overs completing the target of 177 runs.

Having been put in to bat by Rohit Sharma, the West Indies were bowled out for 176 runs. As the top Indian bowler, Chahal finishes with 4/49, followed by Sundar (3/30) and Krishna (2/29). Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal claimed seven wickets between them on the turn-friendly Motera pitch. Harbhajan Singh even quoted on BYJU’s cricket live that Chahal played the part of a Kulcha (bread) by bagging 4 wickets and Sundar just did the work of the butter on the bread while bagging 3 wickets.
In the final over of the century on seven wickets, West Indies were on the brink of presenting a poor game when Holder entered the scene and scored 57 runs out of 71 balls. His wicket was taken by Prasidh Krishna.
Siraj set the tone for the innings when Hope chipped in with a nip-backer. Krishna’s hit-the-deck bustle was also impressive. Holder’s half-century was probably the only bright spot for WI.
In the second innings Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma will be the opening batsmen.

With a three-match ODI series against West Indies starting on February 6, India’s star batsman will be hoping to maximize his form in ODIs. Kohli, who was sacked as the ODI captain of the side ahead of the tour of South Africa, scored two fifties against the hosts.

If he scores 6 runs in the first ODI against India, Kohli could accomplish the feat in his 96th ODI innings. This Sunday’s ODI would also be India’s 1000th match in the 50-over format, the most by any team.

Due to an increase in Covid cases across the country, all three ODIs will be played behind closed doors.

In the meantime, Mayank Agarwal and Ishan Kishan have been added to the squad after Shikhar Dhawan and Ruturaj Gaikwad tested positive for Covid. Rohit is reportedly going to open with Kishan. That’s a very exciting prospect.

After a number of positive Covid-19 results, India have called up Mayank Agarwal for the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies.

As part of India’s pre-series testing program, three members of the playing squad, one standby player, and three coaches have returned positive RT-PCR tests.

The squad was instructed to undergo testing at home and to travel to Ahmedabad only after receiving negative results. In addition, opening batter Shikhar Dhawan, standby bowler Navdeep Saini, and coaches Dilip and B. Lokesh all returned positive results from Monday’s preliminary testing.

After testing negative on Monday, Ruturaj Gaikwad returned a positive result on Tuesday. Similarly, batter Shreyas Iyer and massage therapist Rajeev Kumar have returned positive results in Wednesday’s third round of testing.

The players and coaches with positive results will remain in isolation until they have fully recovered.

Agarwal is the only player to be included in the ODI squad.

There will be a three-match ODI series against West Indies starting on Sunday 6 February, followed by a T20I series from Wednesday 16 February to Sunday 20 February.
