Nothing has released the Android 15 Developer Beta 1 Preview for the Nothing Phone(2) smartphone. This has become the company’s second phone to receive it after the Nothing Phone(2a) smartphone. It’s in the early stage and is primarily for developers and other advanced users. The company does not recommend ordinary users to download it as it will format all your data.

Steps to upgrade Android 15 Developer Preview

1. Go to “Settings > About phone > Software info” to confirm that your system has the correct version:

2. Create a folder named “ota” in your device’s internal storage directory.
3. Copy the package to the “ota” folder.
4. Go to your phone’s dial screen and enter the following code: *#*#682#*#*
5. After dialing it a local update tool will open. In the drop-down list that appears, select the upgrade package you just copied.
6. Tap the “Directly apply OTA from selection” button to start updating.
7. Reboot your device
8. Upgrade successful

With Android 15 Google aims to minimize the battery impact, maximize the smooth app performance, give a premium device experience, and protect privacy and security we just recently saw the announcement of the second beta of Android 15. Nothing has completed the rollout of ChatGPT to all of its smartphones. It gives you the freedom to interact with the chatbot directly through the new earbuds Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear(a). With the ChatGPT integration in the Nothing smartphones, you get to see a gesture option in the Nothing X app that allows you to start a conversation with the chatbot by simply pinching and holding on to new earbuds to talk. It can pinched singly to stop. Users also get to see the new widgets on the home screen a new button when they take a screenshot and a clipboard popup when a content is selected that allows users to paste the selected content or image directly on ChatGPT and begin a conversation about it. In recent Nothing Phone(2a) got the update with the ChatGPT integration. As per the company, the users will soon be able to use this on the rest of  Nothing and CMF audio products too.

Nothing has rolled out the stable version of Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14 for the Nothing Phone(2) users. This comes after the beta rollout of the update and making the required optimizations.

The Nothing OS 2.5 introduced an array of customisation features for users. From Widgets to home and lock screen customisation, new gestures to volume control, now users will get more freedom to try new things with creativity.

Steps that you need to follow

• Download the Nothing Icon Pack from Google Play.
• When you are done downloading the pack, long-press the home screen and wait for “customization” to appear along with widgets and home settings.
• Tap on customization and then go to “Home screen layout”.
• There you will come across options like Default, Nothing Colour, and Add.
• Head to Nothing and you will see a completely new icon pack for your home screen.

New Features

This update introduces the Glyph Composer app that will let you customize the Glyph sequences and set them as ringtones. Thanks to its lightning elements on the rear side, it can now be customized better than before. Nothing has also introduced Glyph progress for Uber, which is an experimental feature. It will show the progress of an incoming Uber ride.

With this update, you can add widgets and quick settings widgets on the lock screen and home screen. It also brings Nothing Machine style ringtones and notifications sound from Phone(1) that have been adjusted for Nothing Phone(2). You will also get to see 4 new wallpapers and a one-handed mode for easy and convenient usage.

Improvements
