A few days back Nothing officially teased the launch of a new smartphone and based on previous reports it was assumed that the tease could likely be for Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Plus. Recently both these smartphones also made their appearance on the BIS certification website.

Now ahead of the anticipated launch of these devices, the smartphone brand has officially teased that a new device will be launched on 4^th March, 10:00 GMT.

The above teaser probably shows the camera module cutout for the upcoming device with a glyph interface. The brand is expected to launch either the Nothing Phone (3a) series or Nothing Phone (3) which is also said to be currently under work.

Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Plus have been spotted on BIS and IMEI databases while Phone 3a has also made its appearance on Geekbench and UL Demko certification. While the UL Demko listing suggested a 4290 mAh battery (not yet sure), the Geekbench database revealed that it may use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset.

If you remember last year, Nothing Phone (2a) was launched on 5^th March and we may see the debut of its successor Phone (3a) a day prior to this year. Let’s wait for more confirmation whether the Phone (3a) series will launch on 4th March or the Phone (3) will be unveiled. So far, we haven’t seen Nothing Phone (3) in any of the certifications, so likely it would be Phone (3a).

Apart from this, a new Nothing Phone battery has also been spotted on the BIS certification website with model number NT04 (via @saaaanjjjuuu).

The database does not reveal much about the battery details but seems like the company may introduce better batteries in the future for its devices.

Recent reports revealed that Nothing has a new flagship smartphone in development, the Nothing Phone 3, with an alleged Geekbench listing showing the model number A059. A few days ago, tipster Yogesh Brar mentioned three new smartphones coming from Nothing in the first half of 2025, though he didn’t specify which models. Rumours suggested one would be the Nothing Phone 3 and another the Nothing Phone 3 Pro or Plus with model number A059P.

However, new information clarifies that the earlier Geekbench listing wasn’t for the Nothing Phone (3), but rather the Nothing Phone (3a). According to a report by Smartprix, model number A059 belongs to the Nothing Phone (3a), whilst A059P corresponds to the Nothing Phone (3a) Plus. The third device will come from Nothing’s sub-brand CMF, called the CMF Phone 2, bearing model number A0001.

All three devices have appeared on the GSMA database, with the Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Plus codenamed “asteroids” and “asteroids_plus” respectively. The CMF Phone 2 carries the codename “galaga”.

Regarding specifications, the Nothing Phone (3a) is expected to feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC, as previously spotted on Geekbench under a different name. The report details its camera capabilities:

• Main camera: 26mm focal length, 4K 60FPS video recording, and 1080P slow-motion at up to 480FPS
• Features: Super Macro, Super EIS, and Super Night modes (names may change)
• Front camera: 29mm focal length, 1080P at 30FPS—reduced from the Phone 2a’s 60FPS capability
• No high-resolution RAW photography, but includes in-sensor zoom technology for improved clarity

The device will run the latest Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.1. Additionally, the report mentions that the next-generation CMF Phone 2 will also feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC. Further details remain undisclosed, with more information expected soon.

Now ahead of the ongoing speculations, tipster @heyitsyogesh has shared on X that three new Nothing devices are currently under active development. And these devices are tipped to likely launch in H1 2025.

These three devices could be Phone (3), Phone (3a), and Phone (3) Pro (could also be called Phone 3+). Reportedly the Pro model is said to feature 6.7 inch compared to the standard model’s expected 6.5-inch display. The Pro model is also believed to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC.

Back in June, Carl Pei himself had said that Nothing will be launching its next smartphone in 2025. And a new report has emerged that shares the details about Nothing Phone 3 being spotted on the Geekbench listing. But, for some reason, it just doesn’t add up.

Nothing Phone 3 spotted on the Geekbench Database

According to 91Mobiles, a device with model number “A059” has appeared in the Geekbench database. While the device’s name isn’t explicitly mentioned, speculation suggests it could be the Nothing Phone 3. The listing reveals benchmark scores of 1,149 points for single-core and 2,813 points for multi-core performance.

The technical specifications show a processor with three clusters: four cores at 1.8GHz, three cores at 2.4GHz, and one core at 2.5GHz. The source code indicates an Adreno 810 GPU, approximately 7.25GB of RAM, and Android 15-based NothingOS 3.0. These specifications point to the device using a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset.

What makes this listing particularly puzzling is that it shows a less powerful chipset than the Nothing Phone 2’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. This apparent downgrade has led to speculation that the device might actually be the Nothing Phone 3a, a potential mid-range variant, rather than the flagship Phone 3.

Separate rumours suggest the existence of a Pro model (A059P) with a 6.7-inch screen, compared to the standard model’s expected 6.5-inch display. Some sources speculate this Pro variant might launch as the Nothing Phone (3)+ featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC.

Around the mid-half of last month in October 2024, a back design concept image for the next Nothing Phone (3) device was shared online and following which, a tipster on the X/Twitter platform has now wrote about his assumption regarding the arrival of two smartphone devices under the Nothing Phone (3) series branding. He has also revealed the possible monikers, display screen sizes, model numbers, Pokémon codenames, and processors of the two expected models.

Nothing Phone 3 and Nothing Phone 3 Pro Coming?

This update comes from the X/Twitter tipster – Technerd, who has shared that Phone (3) and Phone (3) Pro models may be launched. Based on what he has revealed, the Phone (3) is said to feature a 6.5″ display screen and is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (4nm) processor (unlike what was expected before). He adds that the device is probably going to use the Pokémon codename – ‘Arcanine’ and the model number – ‘A059’. It may be priced at USD 599 (~ INR 50,396).

Coming to the Nothing Phone (3) Pro, this will be the first time a ‘pro’ model is joining the series (if this update is true), however, we previously saw the launch of a ‘plus’ model. The tipster states that the device could be equipped with MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9400 (3nm) chip, and may have a larger 6.7″ display. Its associated Pokémon codename is mentioned as ‘Hisuian Arcanine’, along with the model number – ‘A059P’. The Nothing Phone (3) Pro is tipped with a price tag of USD 699 (~ INR 58,810).

While the tipster himself has mentioned that these shared details are based on his random expectations without any proper leaks, there are certain things that have been confirmed with previous updates.

Firstly, the existence of two mysterious Nothing phones with model numbers – ‘A059’ and ‘A059P’ were confirmed with their appearance on the IMEI database (spotted by Gizmochina). To note, the Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus that have already been launched carry model numbers – ‘A142‘ and ‘A142P‘ respectively, meaning that the ‘P’ in the expected Nothing Phone (3) Pro model number may stand for ‘plus’ rather than ‘pro’ (assuming).

Also, the existence of the Nothing Phone (3) device was confirmed in an official Nothing YouTube video (6:54 ~ 6:57) introducing its Ear (Open) and OS 3.0 products. Carl Pei also suggested of the Nothing Phone (3) launch in 2025, and revealed that it will come with personalized AI.

Nothing, the UK-based consumer electronics manufacturer, has so far unveiled four Nothing-branded devices and one CMF-by-Nothing-branded phone. Its next expected smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3) is said to have its release next year and a new back design concept image of the upcoming smartphone has been shared via Reddit.

Nothing Phone (3) – Revealed Back Design Concept

Firstly, the back design concept has certain similarities with the already launched Nothing smartphones, at the same time have few differences too in design. The number of glyph lights in the concept image has been reduced to somewhat seven (comprising of flash glyph, essential notification glyph, and charging glyph), and a recorder light and flashlight have been given. There are also three camera units present, arranged similar to an Apple iPhone Pro model’s camera module, with a main camera, ultrawide camera, and a telephoto lens. Moreover, there is the charging coil at the center, along with the volume rocker on the left side panel, and the power button and an additional button on the right side panel.

This design is more or less a dream design as most of the design features are not likely to be like this in the actual device. Till date, the brand has only launched dual rear camera phones and not one single device with a triple camera unit. Moreover, the number of glyphs is probably not going to be reduced in the Nothing Phone (3).

Initially the Nothing Phone (3) launch was expected to take place in the month of July 2024, however as mentioned, it was Carl Pei himself who had hinted that the Nothing Phone (3) launch will take place only next year in 2025. We can also expect some AI-features on the device. Also, the device may use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, meaning this time too, the brand will be launching the device as a sub-flagship-level device. To add, it is also reported that in the Indian market, the Nothing Phone (3) may have a price tag between INR 40,000 and 45,000.

First, he addressed a thing that a lot of things has changed but the fundamental experience with users smartphones has not changed much in these 10 to 15 years. According to Carl, this change is not going to happen overnight and users love their apps which means the company can’t just deliver a product without any app. Carl mentions in the video that the company knows that it’s challenging for them to create a bridge between app-based user experience to the post-app world. After building this much the team demonstrated the demos. The video showed the personalized voice assistant. The other part showed the personalized, dynamic home screen that looks like a combination of an app launcher and a news feed. On the smartphone’s screen, the QR appears automatically ahead of the check-in routine, which shows that it will be context-aware too.

Carl Pei confirmed that these new things will be introduced in an improved way in Nothing Phone(3) next year. Earlier it was expected to launch this year but now this integration and some other reasons might have pushed the launch date ahead of expectation. Reports say that this smartphone can be launched with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor.

It is said that this information has been received by an industry source and apart from the processor details, the report also reveals that the upcoming Nothing Phone (3) could be priced around Rs.40,000 to Rs.45,000.

The price range indicates that for now the company is not planning to launch premium smartphones. It is expected that Nothing might introduce this rumored device in the month of July this year. Previously there was no information revealed about the Nothing Phone (3) but since the updates regarding the device have started making rounds on the internet, we might get to know more details regarding the smartphone in the coming days.

Since last month there have been constant updates arriving about Nothing’s next smartphone- Phone 2(a). The company was rumored to soon unveil this device but neither the launch date was known nor the launch timeline.

Commenting on this particular post a user asked the tipster for any update on the launch of the new Nothing Phone. To this, the tipster replied that Nothing Phone 2a will come in Q1 of 2024 while he also mentioned that the company will be launching Nothing Phone (3) in July this year.

Well not much is known yet about the alleged CMF Nothing Buds 2 Pro and Nothing Phone (3) but recent reports did reveal some key highlights of Nothing Phone 2a.

Nothing Phone 2a: Specifications (expected)

The device could come with a 6.7 inch wide 120Hz AMOLED display with 1084×2412 pixels resolution. It might feature a 50MP Samsung S5KGN9 shooter with a 1/1.5″ sensor size and 1.0-micron pixel size. It is expected to be accompanied by a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 ultrawide camera with 1/2.76″ sensor size and 0.64-micron pixel size. The front side of the smartphone is revealed to come with a 32 MP Sony IMX615 front camera housed in a punch-hole cutout.

The UK-based consumer electronics company, Nothing, launched its second smartphone device this year and even came up with three new products under its CMF by Nothing branding. A recent update has now pointed out that a new smartphone device along with a battery from Nothing have been spotted on the BIS certification platform of India.

New Nothing Phone and Battery – BIS Certification

The two Nothing products have been listed on the BIS database with model numbers of “A142” and “NT03” respectively, and the battery is likely to be for the smartphone itself. Notably, in the first table the Nothing Phone (1)(A063) and the Nothing Phone (2)(AIN065), and in the second tablet, the batteries of the two devices(NT01 and NT02 respectively), can be spotted as well.

According to a tipster, the Nothing smartphone with model number – “A142″ is anticipated to be the brand’s Phone (2a) device and a lot of details/rumors regarding the specifications and other features of the smartphone were shared in the past few days.

Design-wise, the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a) is suggested to have a similar rear panel to that of the Phone (1), with a center punch-hole camera, and the device is said to come with the Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14 pre-installed in it. The device may also have a 6.7” AMOLED display panel with 120Hz refresh rate support and is likely to sport a 50MP OIS dual camera unit and a 16MP selfie camera. It has also been revealed that this smartphone will probably be backed by the largest battery ever on a Nothing Phone with a capacity of 4920 mAh.

Regarding the launch, considering the launch of the Nothing Phone (2) and the older Nothing Phone (1), the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a) is speculated to launch in early 2024 or late 2024. The debut of the Nothing Phone (3) is also assumed to be delayed by a couple of months.

It is best to wait for a few more updates to arrive, with which we’ll be able to get a better picture on the upcoming device, and also to confirm whether or not it is the Phone (2a), or maybe the next Phone (3).
