London-based tech brand Nothing recently announced the Nothing OS 2.5 stable version based on Android 14 for Nothing Phone(2) users. At the time of its announcement, the company also announced that it will kick off the Open Beta for Nothing Phone(1) users at the end of the year. Now just ten days away from New Year, the company has announced the open beta program for Nothing Phone(1) users.

Redesigned a joint Home Screen and Lock Screen customisation page and improved the edit wallpaper flow for a more comprehensive view of options.

Introduced solid colour wallpapers for a cleaner Home Screen appearance.

Added a monochrome colour theme in the basic colour section.

More Lock Screen shortcut options like: Do Not Disturb, Mute, QR code scanner, video camera.

Capture screenshots quickly with a three-finger swipe gesture.

New screenshot editor and menu, allowing for more advanced editing features and quick deletions.

Pedometer Widget: Track your daily steps directly from your home screen. Set goals and monitor your progress to stay motivated.

Media Player Widget: Displays the currently playing song. Control your music easily while on-the-move.

Notes: To use these new widgets, please update your Nothing Launcher and Nothing Widgets app to the latest versions available on the Play Store.

Optimised the experience of the Weather app and improved the notification of weather alerts.

Refreshed the back gesture arrow visual to be more in line with Nothing’s style.

Nothing has rolled out the stable version of Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14 for the Nothing Phone(2) users. This comes after the beta rollout of the update and making the required optimizations.

The Nothing OS 2.5 introduced an array of customisation features for users. From Widgets to home and lock screen customisation, new gestures to volume control, now users will get more freedom to try new things with creativity.

London-based Nothing has announced the Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta 1 for Nothing Phone(2) users. This new update is based on Android 14. As per the Nothing recent X post users can expect this update from tomorrow. As of now the company has not shared any directives to install this update but is expected to share tomorrow as it wrote “Users check back tomorrow for more details”.

Selected Nothing Phone(2) users who registered for the Nothing OS 2.5 closed beta program just recently received the update. Users shared the screenshot of the update on a Telegram community group that showed Android 14 main updates and Nothing OS update. It also revealed that the update is 1.01 GB large.

As per the screenshot shared by a closed beta user Android 14 main updates include

A new back navigation experience
Separate controls for ringtone and notification volumes.
A new charging indicator on the status bar.
Customize your unit and number preferences through new regional settings in Settings> System> Languages> Regional preferences.
Grant Limited access to your photos and videos with the new media permission feature.
Less battery drain thanks to optimized battery operations.
More UI and feature tweaks await your discovery.
