<p>The investigation into this issue is currently going on, and now the government has also taken action regarding this issue. The government has ordered the removal of BAT-BMS, Epoch Li-ion and Lossigy apps from the Google Play Store and Apple Store.</p>
<p>These applications were originally introduced to monitor battery health by tracking its voltage, temperature and battery status. But concerns started to rise when these apps were allegedly used to disrupt E-Rickshaw operations without the knowledge of the driver.</p>
<p>Addressing this issue, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, S Krishnan said, “ This is the due care that the app stores have to exercise, and we will take it up with the app stores to see that possibly damaging apps do not come up.”</p>
<p>No further details on this matter have been disclosed by the government, but this issue has raised concerns among users regarding the battery management system used in e-rickshaws and electric two-wheelers in India.</p>

Along with this, the Ministry of Electronics and IT has also asked users to stay vigilant.</p>
<p>Read more about it below.</p>
<h2>CISCE DigiLocker – A Fake Website Now Targeting Users</h2>
<p>As mentioned, there is now a fake website which is trying to impersonate the nature of an official CISCE-related website to gain the attention of users. The website in question is “http://digilocker.cisceboard.org”, and it leads to a page where users are asked to check their results by entering their Aadhaar number.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-253680" src="https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Ministry-of-electronics-and-IT-X-Post-on-CISCE.jpg" alt="Ministry of electronics and IT - X Post on CISCE" width="474" height="244" srcset="https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Ministry-of-electronics-and-IT-X-Post-on-CISCE.jpg 474w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Ministry-of-electronics-and-IT-X-Post-on-CISCE-300x154.jpg 300w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Ministry-of-electronics-and-IT-X-Post-on-CISCE-150x77.jpg 150w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px" /></p>
<p>For those unaware, CISCE is a non-governmental, privately held national-level board of school education in India, and it conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination for Class X and the Indian School Certificate Examination for Class XII.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-253685" src="https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Website-Page.jpg" alt="CISCE Website Page" width="1532" height="841" srcset="https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Website-Page.jpg 1532w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Website-Page-300x165.jpg 300w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Website-Page-1024x562.jpg 1024w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Website-Page-768x422.jpg 768w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Website-Page-150x82.jpg 150w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1532px) 100vw, 1532px" /></p>
<p>Looking more into the details, the Ministry of Electronics and IT has confirmed via a post on X that this is not an official DigiLocker website, and has asked users to stay cautious. However, on checking further, it was found that this subdomain is hosted on the main website of the organisation itself. This hints that the website may have been compromised. Moreover, even on the homepage, there is a button with the DigiLocker logo, and clicking on it further redirects users to the above-mentioned fraudulent page.</p>
<p>Furthermore, on this fake page, none of the footer menu links at the bottom are working. Via its source code, the URL “https://infird.com/cdn/afde4f0c-4096-4aeb-b345-d1aea539851b” was also revealed, which appears to be related to adware. Such adware usually tends to download extensions on the user’s browser and is responsible for showing pop-up ads on the system.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-253681" src="https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Page-Source-Code.jpg" alt="CISCE Page Source Code" width="1874" height="796" srcset="https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Page-Source-Code.jpg 1874w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Page-Source-Code-300x127.jpg 300w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Page-Source-Code-1024x435.jpg 1024w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Page-Source-Code-768x326.jpg 768w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Page-Source-Code-1536x652.jpg 1536w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CISCE-Page-Source-Code-150x64.jpg 150w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1874px) 100vw, 1874px" /></p>
<p>Earlier, upon clicking the above URL, the fake page was directly opening. However, now before visiting the actual page, a new warning screen appears and reveals it to be a phishing page. Those looking to check their marksheets or any other related details are advised not to visit this page or share their Aadhaar details on it.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-253682" src="https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Suspected-Phishing-Page-on-CISCE.jpg" alt="Suspected Phishing Page on CISCE" width="1253" height="636" srcset="https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Suspected-Phishing-Page-on-CISCE.jpg 1253w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Suspected-Phishing-Page-on-CISCE-300x152.jpg 300w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Suspected-Phishing-Page-on-CISCE-1024x520.jpg 1024w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Suspected-Phishing-Page-on-CISCE-768x390.jpg 768w, https://www.thetechoutlook.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Suspected-Phishing-Page-on-CISCE-150x76.jpg 150w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1253px) 100vw, 1253px" /></p>
<p>It should be noted that this is a serious issue and it is already high time for the concerned authorities to take the necessary action quickly. Moreover, when such a fake website gets linked with an education board and asks users to share sensitive details like Aadhaar number, it poses a huge security risk and concern too.</p>
<p>Stay tuned for more updates.</p>
