This sensor creates detailed 600mm2 reproduction of the scanned fingerprints thus enabling instant fingerprint scanning and stronger security. For enhanced security, users can also register two fingerprints at the same time. The company has now announced the new feature in this is Force Sensing. This feature enables phones to detect the pressure with which a user presses on the smartphone’s display.

The first device to use it will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powered @MEIZU M21 Pro. https://t.co/VzVxnKllh0 pic.twitter.com/eT9vR1JzmT

Developers also get the freedom to add new experiences to their lock screen and applications. This is like using the Qualcomm Sony Max as an acceleration pedal or lightly tapping for the brakes. The Force Sensing can also be used for instant unlock and shortcut to an app. As per the company, the first device to integrate Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max with Force Sensing is the Meizu M21 Pro.

Qualcomm has also shared a video on its X account demonstrating the new feature on the Meizu M21 Pro smartphone. The video shows the user lightly tapping on the camera icon that goes unresponsive but as soon as the user taps it with a certain pressure it opens up. The user can also be seen in the video hard pressing the home screen that brings back user to the home screen but when he light presses the screen it just goes back. These new features will soon be seen in other phones also the company has promised.
