Meta’s Instagram recently introduced Threads, its own Twitter competition app, and the app was a huge hit on the day of its launch itself. Threads have already made more than 30 million sign-ups.

Twitter might move forward with a lawsuit to sue Meta for introducing Threads, making use of Twitter’s intellectual properties and other information by hiring Twitter’s former employees.

Twitter to Sue Meta Over Threads?

In a letter sent by Elon Musk’s lawyer, Alex Spiro to Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter has accused Zuckerberg of “systematic, willful and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual properties”. The letter states that over the years, Meta has hired many former Twitter employees who had and who are still having access to Twitter’s trade secrets and other confidential information. It is making use of these collected data, that Meta’s Instagram has made its own microblogging application, Threads.

However, Andy Stone, a Meta spokesperson has mentioned that no one who was on the engineering team of Threads was a Twitter employee. No former employees or senior personnel from Twitter has not joined Meta, states a former senior Twitter employee as per a report on Reuters. Whatever the case, Meta Instagram’s Threads somewhat look similar to Twitter, taken for the fact that it does not support direct messages or keyword searches. In response to a copy of the letter that has been shared on Twitter, Musk has also commented, “Competition is fine, cheating is not”.

If we take the opinions of experts who deal with such lawsuits, it is clear that Twitter’s claims, as mentioned in the letter, won’t stand a chance in suing Meta for trade secret theft. It has also been mentioned that it is the company’s responsibility to protect their own confidential data and Twitter will have to show that the required measures were taken to protect it in order to sue Meta.

We’ll have to wait to know more regarding how the matter between Musk and Zuckerberg heads and how it will be put to rest.

Whatsapp adds a new feature that will enable users to log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones. This feature update has been shared by Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook through a post in which he wrote “Starting today, you can log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones”. WhatsApp has been rigorously working to make this feature available to users.

In 2021 Meta-owned WhatsApp launched Multi-device support last year which only enabled users to log in simultaneously on one phone and four computers and tablets. But this did not allow users to log in to a WhatsApp account simultaneously on two phones. In 2022 finally, WhatsApp rolled out the much-awaited feature allowing users to log in simultaneously through two phones.

Users needed to follow these steps to log into the same WhatsApp account on a second phone.

• To begin, open WhatsApp on your second device and click on “Agree and Continue”.
• Now, click on the three dots menu in the top right corner.
• Now, click on “Link a device”.

Then, open WhatsApp on your primary device and click on the three dots menu in the top right corner.

• Now, click on “Linked devices”.
• Now, click on “Link a device”.
• Scan the QR code being shown on the secondary device.

For iOS users you have to open WhatsApp and then go to settings and click on Link Devices.

The step for the recent update has not yet been shared as it’s been just a few hours. This new feature is for sure going to add value for the users. As far as the recent update is concerned it increased the number of users that can be added to a group and gave more power to the admin to allow and disallow the member entry in the group.

The Meta Verified is available for individual or professional profiles but not for business profiles.

There are some community guidelines that you will have to abide by to have a verified badge. The price or charge for this is $11.99/month for the web and $14.99/month for iOS. It looks like musk has a great influence on Mark, which is why he has also launched the same scheme but at a higher price.

As per the post shared by Meta head Mark, this service is first going to be launched in Australia and New Zealand. Mark also said that soon this facility will be available in Other countries also.

Musk’s decision to make Twitter blue tick cost $8 was initially not acceptable but now it can be seen that the other social media platforms are also heading in the same direction.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg were on the verge of giving hours of depositions in response to a lawsuit over Facebook and the Cambridge Analytica scandal. However, now any of this sort won’t happen.

A court filing reveals the parties have reached an agreement in principle and requested a stay of 60 days to finalize their written agreement. Without the settlement and stay, they would have been deposed before September 20th, as reported by Reuters.

Zuckerberg will only have to answer questions from Joe Rogan and talk about new VR headsets, rather than going into the matters of what happened to his company around the time of the 2016 election.

Above is the document just for some clarity, although, there have no been any details put out regarding the terms of the agreement. The company has chose to decline any sort of comments through a spokesperson, and as far as the lawyers are concerned, they too have not responded to an inquiry from The Verge.

After receiving warnings from the FBI, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told popular podcaster Joe Rogan this week that Facebook did limit stories on the news feed related to the New York Post story about President Biden’s son Hunter Biden and his laptop, but defended the law enforcement agency as a “legitimate institution.”

On an edition of Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” which was released on Thursday, Zuckerberg stated that the FBI contacted his company before of the 2020 presidential election to warn them about potentially polarizing content. This warning came after Russia exploited social media sites, including Facebook, to spread controversial propaganda ahead of the 2016 election.

Zuckerberg stated that he took the warning very seriously. He stated that the social media site did not prohibit individuals from sharing the Post’s news, but it did limit how frequently the story appeared in feeds.

According to The Washington Post, the FBI obtained a laptop purportedly belonging to Hunter Biden as part of a federal investigation into him just before the 2020 election.

Former President Trump and some of his supporters seized on the news at the time as evidence that Hunter engaged in unethical business transactions when his father was vice president. Some of the emails on the laptop have since been verified as genuine, but no misconduct by the president or his son has been established.

Last month, the case involving Hunter Biden reached a crossroads as prosecutors considered whether to indict him.

The sculpture, known as The Virgin of Mercy or “Pilgrim of Quito,” is believed to have performed miracles and is highly revered in Ecuador. It is thought to have been created in the early 18th century.

Mark Zuckerberg owned messaging app ‘WhatsApp’ has introduced three new privacy-related features in which a user can hide the status of there online presence while using the application, exit groups silently and stop screenshots for images.

WhatsApp head Will Cathcart and Zuckerberg announced the new features on Tuesday, August 9.

As far as the hiding the online status is concerned, the application offers you to hide your online status. While either users were able to only hide their ‘Last Seen’ status, the company is now allowing you to hide their ‘Last Seen’ status, the company allows to hide ‘Online’ indicator as well.

You can either completely hide the last seen online status from everyone, only unknown numbers, specific contacts, or from nobody. WhatsApp has given you that liberty to choose with whom you want to share your ‘Online’ indicator.

The feature will add a new “Who can see when I’m online” option under the last seen settings, with two options – ‘Everyone’ and ‘Same as Last Seen.’

Mark Zuckerberg, the Meta CEO, said in a Facebook post ,the aim is to eventually make WhatsApp “as private and secure as face-to-face conversations,”

Moreover, the feature will be accessible across all desktops and mobile by the end of month.

On Thursday, the CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg sold his house in San Fransico for a whopping amount of $31 million USD (₹247Cr approx.).

As per the reports of the Red Deal, Zuckerberg’s house has been the most expensive deal in the city till now.

In 2012, Zuckerberg bought the house for $10 million USD (₹79 CR approx.). It’s located on a secluded hill and spreads over 7000 square feet. The house is also near the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. Zuckerberg had purchased the house a month after Facebook filed to become a public company.

The house was listed on a property website, Redfin. The listing reveals that the house consists of a four-bedroom, four-baths, spanning across a 7,400 square feet area.

Zuckerberg’s reason behind selling the house has not been revealed yet but it was reported that the neighbours had issues with the parking space that his security detail permanently occupied.

A neighbour, without revealing his name, expressed through a letter how difficult it was to live in the same area as Zuckerberg. “Hi, Neighbors/“I’m sure you all agree that it can be cumbersome living next to Zuck. I think we’ve all tried to be as patient and civil as possible during the very long construction, the noise, the trash, the blocking of streets, etc. Now that all that circus is done, we are left with 2 silver SUVs permanently occupying desirable parking spots,” the letter obtained by New York Post revealed.

Instagram has added a new tool that allows users to respond to photos with fast emoji. WhatsApp is currently working on a similar functionality. WhatsApp, according to a rumour, is also working on a feature that will allow users to respond quickly to status changes.

In a blog post, WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo stated that although the business is working on a feature that allows users to respond to messages with emoji, the app is also creating a function that allows users to react quickly to status updates.

What is the functionality of this feature?

When you see someone else’s status, you’ll be able to respond immediately with a variety of emoji. It will work in the same way that users on Instagram react to someone’s story by pressing emoticons like clapping hands, party popper, weeping face, and fire.

Users currently text after reading someone’s status update, but their experience is going to change. In its post, WABetaInfo also included a screenshot showing eight new emoji for the reaction. Emojis such as Smiling face with heart eyes, Tear face with joy, crying face, folded hands, clapping hands, and party popper will be included.

The instant messaging software is working on a feature that would allow users to talk from the same account on numerous phones or tablets.

The screen will ask you to scan a code with your main phone to register the gadget you’ll be using as your ‘companion.’

Please note that there is currently no code to scan. Previously, WhatsApp could only be accessed via a desktop client or a web browser.
