The England and Wales Cricket Board is in favour of supporting Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign for the fifth time now, moreover, the first time for a men’s Test match.

The initiative will see the game come together to celebrate and encourage LGBTQ+ community participation in the game, it will run across the Royal London One Day Cup quarter finals, The Hundred and for the first time in the England men’s LV= Insurance Test match against South Africa at the Emirates Old Trafford.

Rainbow Laces messaging will be visible at all professional games across the weekend, alongside branded stumps and a presence on the big screen, and every cricket club in the United Kingdom has been equipped with social media graphics to help show their support online for the campaign.

“It’s great to support a campaign like Rainbow Laces. Cricket needs to be for everyone, and as players we need to keep doing our bit to demonstrate that we believe in that – that we want everyone to feel included and welcome in our sport.” said former England captain Joe Root.

The ECB’s support of Rainbow Laces forms part of the boards continued commitment to Raising The Game; a new encircling platform for advancing equity, diversity and inclusion within cricket in not just England but raise awareness all through the globe.

Some social media platforms have called for a boycott of Pizza Hut. Currently, the food giant is trending on Twitter for attributing a book about drag performers in a kid’s literacy program in the US. This incident has not been well received by some social media segments, who whooped for a complete ban for “going woke.”

Pizza Hut has promoted a book called ‘Big Wig’, for children 4 to 12 years old, and the book contained content about a child who is dressing as a drag in a costume competition. Drag signifies to a gender-bending art form in which dress in certain clothing and makeup to represent themselves as the opposite gender. It is mostly performed by flamboyant gay men.

June is observed as Pride Month for the LGBTQ community worldwide. Pizza Hut celebrated Pride Month by explaining the Drag performers to the kids in a more fun way. This has hurt the sentiments of certain people. Some people even pull debates on the Republican vs Democrat narrative. Brigitte Gabriel, founder of the Anti-Muslim advocacy group act for America has pledged to take down the food ain’t by saying, “Pizza Hut has gone full woke, now we must make them full broke.”

However, the majority of people found no problem with Pizza Hut promoting ‘Big Wig’ at the same time as celebrating Pride Month.

As per the news floating around the internet, we came to know that from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, it claims that when the 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) results were released, Tesla is once again one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality. Tesla’s CEI rating for 2022 is the manufacturer’s seventh consecutive high HRC rating.

The HRC Foundation’s CEI serves as a nationwide benchmarking tool for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer employees’ policies, practices, and benefits. According to HRC, in 2022, 842 firms that met all of the requirements achieved a perfect score and the title of Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality. According to the statement, employers with the highest CEI ratings come from practically every industry and area in the United States.

Furthermore, these companies have made significant steps to design and implement comprehensive policies, benefits, and procedures that promote greater equity for LGBTQ+ employees and their families to obtain top rankings. For the seventh year in a row, Tesla has been named one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality, achieving 100 out of 100 available points.

As per the sources, we also came to know that the Workforce Protections mandates that all operations have a documented anti-discrimination policy that includes both “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.” In their nondiscrimination policy, 99.8% of CEI participants stated that they include a sexual orientation clause. It is a low-cost, high-return proposition for businesses to offer LGBTQ+ inclusive benefits to employees and their families through Inclusive Benefits.

Finally, because “policy does not equal practice,” as the report concludes, Encouraging an Inclusive Culture and Corporate Social Responsibility guarantees that laws and perks crucial to LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace are implemented.
