Babe Ruth is undoubtedly the greatest hitter in the history of baseball. He was the greatest hitter because of the fundamentals of his swing. His height stood at 6′ 2″ and weighed 215 pounds. When you consider that Reggie, Ruth was far exceptionally superior for his time.

Besides his power hitting, he also had a .342 lifetime batting average. Ruth made contact with power, and often. A case can be made that his bat swing was genius.

1. Ruth had a great stride into the swing but left his hands way back in the swing.
2. Weight shifted to the front side
3. Back hand had palm up, with arm bent for some time through the swing.
4. Ruth did not roll over his hands too soon. He kept the line so that his area of impact was huge. If his timing was off or if he faced an off-speed pitch, he could still make contact.
5. He had the best slot position, and his hands held back for power and leverage.

Due to his extreme flexibility, he was able to hold his hands farther back than most baseball players. Moreover, with his size, eye of seeing the ball, and competitive spirit, he is arguably the best hitter in the world of baseball.

Ruth had an edge in natural flexibility. If you count the power, guys these days cannot match him, although they were gifted at par when it comes to talent.

Michael Jordan has been all gaga over Kobe Byrant’s as he was remembering his on-court achievements. Jordan also praised Bryant’s skills. According to Jordan, Bryant has also had influential guidance to the younger generation of the NBA.

Jordan said Bryant was always hungry for championships and had a demanding personality. Jordan has also offered some perspective to Byrant which could help him further in the next chapter of his life once his 20th and final NBA season ends.

“Your next career is going to be something I’m pretty sure you will have to figure out. From a competitive standpoint, I’m pretty sure you’re just like me. You’re going to have to find ways to utilize that competitive drive.” Jordan said in a video tribute.

Bryant also ruled out having any ownership, front office or coaching role with any sports team.

“Basketball or whatever sport you play, it comes easy,” Bryant said. “You were born and this is what you did at a young age. It’s very hard to figure out what the next thing is. But I’ll be fine.”

“I’m always going to be working. I can’t stop, I have too much energy. I’m always going to be really, really working really, really hard. The hardest thing is going to be to sit down and relax.” Byrant said

As far as his NBA career is concerned, he is widely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time. Bryant won five NBA championships, was an 18-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, a 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team, and the 2008 NBA Most Valuable Player.

He played his entire career for the Los Angeles Lakers team in a span of 20 years. He represented the United States National Basketball team and was part of the winning team of the 2008 and 2012 Olympics which won Gold.

Bryant also became the first player in the history of the NBA with 30,000 points and 6,000 assists in 2014.

The Basketball player passed away in an unfortunate helicopter crash, he was accompanied by eight other people including his 13-year-old daughter. The board found out that pilot error was the most significant reason for the crash.

Australian cricketer and the inaugural captain of the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals, breathed his last on 4th March in Thailand, widely acknowledged as the greatest spinners in cricket history. To give respect and honour the man, the Rajasthan Royals team will be wearing a special jersey as a tribute to Shane Warne against their upcoming match with Mumbai Indians.

Shane Warne led the Royals as the winner in the first edition of IPL in 2008 and hence is the only captain of the franchise to lift the trophy. Ahead of their game against Mumbai, the Royals posted a video on social media which saw many Rajasthan Royal players share their thoughts of the Aussie.

RR opener Jos Buttler said, “The belief he could instil in others, I think, was the biggest thing I took away, you know. Think he made you feel 10 feet tall when you were around him”.

“I think his wishes have and always will be with me”, Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal claimed.

Shane Warne last played an IPL game against Mumbai Indians and won the IPL at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The RR’s will be wearing a custom made jersey to honour their first captain.
