In August, Fitbit Sense was unveiled and came with ECG features. They recently got an upgrade to Fitbit OS 5.1.

Reportedly, Fitbit Sense smartwatch users with ECG connectivity problems will get replacements from the manufacturer. According to the company, the problem appears to be hardware-related and only affects a limited number of users that it said it has approached. “A user shared an email received from the company on the Fitbit forum stating a “hardware fault with your computer that may impair its ability to run correctly.

Although the email does not clarify the problem, it was reportedly verified by Fitbit that it was linked to the ECG feature.
Launched in August, Fitbit Sense is the company’s first smartwatch to come with ECG features. As per a study by The Verge, Fitbit has confirmed that the ECG software on less than 900 Sense models will show an “inconclusive” result during readings due to some hardware problem.
In a recent statement to 9to5Google, Fitbit said In a minimal subset of our initial Fitbit Sense shipments, a few hundred devices worldwide, we have found a problem that could cause the ECG App to default during readings to an ‘Inconclusive’ result.” When set up, we can recognize the infected devices and reach out to these customers directly to supply them with a new repair device free of charge.
The company is said to be approaching impacted users, and on the official forums, one of the Fitbit Sense users posted an email from the company. We also found a hardware problem with your computer that may impact its ability to run correctly. Return the unit to us, please. We will have a prepaid return mark for you. We’re sending you a substitute free of charge to ensure the best possible Fitbit experience. The original accessories, such as the charging cable and unit, must be kept. You’ll get a new computer,’ reads the text.
