The same Nano came into the market to fulfill the dreams of Indian families to have a car in just one lakh. They had to close the manufacturing of it because of the rising cost of manufacturing and raw material. But this sounds exciting that Tata may come up with an electric avatar.

But as far as the company is concerned they have neither made any official remark on this speculation nor they have commented upon it. If we talk about Tata Motors it has the widest range of electric vehicles in the country. This wide range includes Tiago, Tigor, and Nexon EVs.

If this Nano will be introduced in the market it will for sure come with the vision of catering wider Indian audience which would be clear in the upcoming days.

Among all those decisions stands one of the electric vehicles. Countries all across the world are switching towards electric vehicles with the passing of time. India could not stay aloof from this pollution.

One of the revolutions by ola founder Bhavesh Agarwal ignited this movement of electric vehicles. No people in India are also thinking about buying an electric vehicle over a diesel or petrol vehicle. Because an electric vehicle will neither spread pollution nor will be costly in terms of fuel. But the problem is people are still confused about it.

Electric vehicles are twice costlier than petrol or diesel vehicles. The second problem is that people think that their vehicle would stop after running a few kilometers and they would have no option of charging it.

SWYTCHD is helping them to own an electric vehicle without even buying it. Bangalore-based startup by Sameer Arif is giving people electric cars and scooty on rent. Recharge rules include rental fees, service fees, and maintenance charges. It will only cost you Rs 5,000 for two-wheelers and Rs 30,000 for four-wheelers. You can also change your vehicle in a month if you don’t like it.

It is a subscription-based program that you can use to have an electric vehicle. For now, this service is once only available in Bangalore city.

According to McLaren’s new CEO, sport utility vehicles are “extremely essential,” and Ferrari will join them as soon as next week with the Purosangue. Rumors that Bugatti will also release a high-riding model are untrue. Well, at least not anytime soon.

A Bugatti SUV is not in the business’s 10-year plan, according to company CEO Mate Rimac in an interview with the German magazine Autobmobilwoche. Additionally, even though the vast majority of automakers expect to market an EV by 2032, no fully electric vehicles will be created during this time. In reality, at least in some areas, many automakers will have stopped making combustion-engined vehicles by then. Ettore, however, asserted that Bugatti would no longer be comparable if an automaker were to be used as an example.

Although an EV has been put on hold, electrification is a trend that Bugatti cannot ignore. Even premium companies will be impacted by increasingly stricter emissions laws, which is why the Mistral roadster will be the last vehicle to use the powerful W16 engine. The replacement to the Chiron will be “heavily electrified,” according to Mate Rimac, and will have no choice but to use a hybrid powertrain.

A smaller combustion engine is likely to replace the sixteen-cylinder mill. However, the head of Bugatti has promised to replace the Chiron with a “very appealing combustion engine.” We’ll have to wait patiently because the hypercar won’t debut until 2024. It will be intriguing to see if the ICE is a completely original concept or if it is based on a gasoline engine from the VW Group, perhaps the brand-new V12 that will make its debut in the Lamborghini Aventador successor next year.

In the same interview with Autobmobilwoche, Mate Rimac stated that one of the objectives is to increase the hybrid powertrain’s electric range to at least 50 kilometers (31 miles). One-percenters could move around town without turning on their ICE.

As such, car manufacturers all over the world are putting on the best of their efforts to enhance and develop their electric car-manufacturing sector. China, the world’s second largest company isn’t behind in this race. They have brands that stand beside with automotive giants like Tesla while giving them significant competition. Today I present three present day dominators in the Electric Car market from China.

Nio

Nio is the most familiar car company from China to foreign investors. This popular car brand founded in 2014 is also referred to as the Chinese Tesla. The company however differs from Tesla in many aspects.

Nio has a unique proposition to its way of work. Their goal is to redefine the use of the car. Nio promotes the car as a lifestyle medium and not just a car.

Nio has self-owned Nio Houses. Like other companies, they don’t use dealers. These has a much broader concept that even surpasses a showroom approach.

The NIO app possess a very high rate of utilization. It has also delivered over 100,000 vehicles. The company boasted 1.6 million registered users as on May 2021. This also included 200,000 daily users.

Nio remains as one of the best performer in the market because they have also fixed charging issues in EVs. They provided a unique solution by presenting swappable battery modules and invested heavily in swapping stations. They have 370 swapping stations in China. It takes the second-generation cars to swap a battery around 3 minutes.

At present, Nio has three models for sale. They are all SUVs.

Xpeng

Xpeng, another great performer of the car market in China, has been doing in-house manufacturing after its first model. Xpeng is a technology driven company. Xpang tries to give an intelligent and connected vehicle proposition to its models.

Xpeng claims that they possess industry-leading voice-assisted control that is capable of understanding and undertaking ten commands in 25 seconds. Xpeng cars also possess the XPilot system. Just like Tesla’s autopilot, XPilot offers a degree of self-driving ability. The second model of Xpeng, the P7, possess a system that is capable of driving in most highways in China.

The company uses a multi-sensor suite that consists cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors to facilitate this flexibility. The new P5 model also adds Lidar (Light detection and ranging) which adds self-driving on inner-city roads.

The company’s R&D team are people from non-automotive backgrounds.

Li

Unlike Xpeng and Nio, Li Auto only has one model, the appropriately name One. Li refers to SUV as an extended range EV (EREV). Effectively it is a series PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle) where a petrol engine acts as a generator.

In a very short duration of time i.e., little less than a year, the company has emerged from a beginner stage to the bestselling start up in the field in the month of July 2021. This year Li, presented an upgraded version of One, the New One. However other than this, the company won’t present a second model until 2023.

This can actualy be an advantage since they just have to worry about one car when it comes to thousands of issues that a car actually faces. Li has the time to fix all of this before moving on to a second model. Whereas companies like Nio and Xpeng already has models that requires concerns in the various range of issues.

By the end of the year, companies like Li and Xpeng will probably surpass the important 10,000 cras/month sales barrier. Li will be in this race with just one model. Whereas Xpeng will have three models in this race.

Nio and Xpeng are also exploring the ideas of expansion into European markets. Both of them are currently facilitating sales in Norway.

Hyundai’s two performance-focused electric vehicle (EV) concepts that they call “rolling labs” is contributing to the purpose. These two vehicles, namely the RN22e and the N Vision 74 concepts comes from Hyundai’s “N” sub-brand. A modified loniq 6 body makes up the RN22e whereas the N Vision 74 is modeled after the never-released 1974 Pony Coupe concept. However, both the models has blended fresh sporty designs into them.

The N Vision 74 features a striking design that has influence from the 2025 Hyundai N Vision Gran Turismo and the Pony Coupe, which was designed by iconic Giorgetto Giugiaro. He was the same man who made the DMC DeLorean. However, Hyundai has altered the gas-powered engine with a hybrid hydrogen fuel cell system capable of pushing the car over 250 kph. Additionally it has 62.4 kWh battery with 800V fast charging capabilities. It has a driving range of 372-mile driving range.

Though the RN22e isn’t as flashy as the N Vision 74, it is still pretty elegant and sleek. It uses the same aerodynamic streamliner design like the loniq 6 that Hyundai introduced last week. The RN22e has a 77.4 kWh battery with 400 or 800V fast multi charging capabilities. The car covers a maximum speed of 250 kph (155 mph). The RN22e comes with an N Sound Plus feature that generates fake engine sounds while driving. Hyundai describes it as an “emotional driving experience.

Lately Hyundai has been presenting impressive concept cars. Though it is quite unsure whether these concepts will roll out of the factory doors, as of now we know that Hyundai N is releasing its first EV, the loniq 5 N in 2023.
