Below you can find more details about this newly launched app.

Google Labs Dreambeans Experimental App Officially Announced

As per what has been shared, Dreambeans is a new experimental app from Google Labs that will be offering personalized daily stories to users based on the things that matter the most to them. It should be noted that the app uses Google’s latest AI capabilities such as Personal Intelligence and Nano Banana 2, and will create a short collection of stories instead of letting users scroll endlessly.

Speaking more about how it works, after installing the app and giving the required permission, Dreambeans connects to the user’s Google apps such as Gmail, Calendar, Photos, YouTube, and Search history. Based on the information available across these apps, the app will curate stories that are more connected to what is happening in the user’s life.

For instance, if a user had been searching for the latest Snapdragon processor specifications on Google Search, and their Gmail has a shipping confirmation for a new smartphone accessory, Dreambeans may bring out a short visual guide on the best ways to optimize the battery life, camera settings, or overall performance of the new smartphone. Furthermore, each story will also feature custom illustrations based on the people and places that users interact with the most.

Also, if a story interests the user, they can tap on it to dive deeper and find additional information from across the web. This may include nearby smartphone stores, repair centres, product guides, or other such useful details, helping users to take further action based on the story. Users will also be able to save their favorite stories in a personal library and revisit them later.

Coming to another key feature, Dreambeans will also allow users to tune their stories by leaving feedback. If a suggestion is not right, or if the user has picked up a new interest, they can share feedback with the app, and Dreambeans will use it to adjust future stories.

Regarding privacy and app control, Google has mentioned that users will be able to choose which apps they want to connect with Dreambeans. It should be noted that the app needs at least one connected app to work, while it will function best when all supported apps are connected.

Just to add, the privacy choices made specifically for Dreambeans will not affect the settings of other Google AI products like Gemini Apps or AI Mode. This means that the settings selected within Dreambeans will remain isolated to the app.

Availability

About its availability, Dreambeans is now rolling out for eligible Google AI Ultra subscribers aged 18 and above in the US, and it is available on both Android and iOS platforms. Others can also sign up for the waitlist on the Dreambeans website using a personal Google account (via Google Forms).
