Yesterday, Dell Technologies officially introduced its XPS 13 laptop. This all-new laptop is said to compete with the MacBook Neo on price, while, as per the company, it exceeds on features when compared to the MacBook Neo.

Dell XPS 13: Features

The XPS 13 is 12.7mm thin and only 1kg in weight, making it the thinnest and lightest XPS ever made. It’s smaller and a half pound lighter than the MacBook Neo with a larger display. Dell has boasted the standard features of this laptop that won’t be available on a MacBook Neo: a 2.5K touch display, backlit keyboard, faster USB-C (3.2 Gen 2), Intel WiFi 7, Windows Hello and Quad speakers.

The 13.4-inch 2.5K touch display offers 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut and 500 nits brightness. Equipped with variable refresh rate technology, the display adjusts automatically between 30Hz and 120Hz depending on what’s on screen. It is powered by Intel Core Series 3 or Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors (available post launch) with up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM.

With Intel WiFi 7 offered standard, all that rich content can be streamed seamlessly. With a 52Wh battery, it offers up to 17 hours of battery life. The dual-fan thermal architecture helps it stay cool and quiet. The chassis is aluminium (rigid, sleek and ultra-thin), while the laptop comes with a backlit keyboard and traditional touchpad.

Dell XPS 13: Availability

It comes in Sky and Storm finishes. The XPS 13 with Intel Core Series 3 processors (8GB RAM and 512GB SSD) will arrive in June, starting at $599 for students (16 and up) and $699 for everyone else.

The XPS 13 with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors (up to 32GB RAM and 1TB storage) and the Storm colourway will be available later this summer.

Recently, Dell Technologies introduced its Dell 15 AI-powered laptop in the Indian market. This laptop is designed to support multitasking for work, study, and communication.

Dell 15 laptop: Features

The laptop arrives with a 15.6-inch FHD anti-glare display that offers a 60Hz refresh rate and 300 nits brightness. The laptop is powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor, paired with up to 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD. It comes with an optional backlit keyboard with a 10-key numeric pad and is pre-installed with Windows 11 Home with Lifetime validity.

The Dell 15 laptop is equipped with Intel Arc Graphics. It offers MS Office Home and Student 2024 with lifetime validity and McAfee Multi-Device Security 12-month subscription.  It comes with NPU-powered AI, Copilot Key, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3.

Dell ComfortView software helps reduce blue light for extended usage. It also includes an HD webcam, integrated microphones, dual speakers, an optional fingerprint reader and AI-powered noise reduction. The device supports ExpressCharge, enabling up to 80% charge in about one hour.

Connectivity ports include: USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C full function, USB Type-A 2.0, Universal Audio port and HDMI 1.4 port. It measures 358.5×235.56×18.99mm and weighs 1.66kg.

The laptop arrives with 30% recycled plastic in the palm rest and bottom cover, and up to 90% reduced cobalt in the battery. The optional 65W USB Type-C adapter uses 95% recycled plastic and up to 98% recycled aluminium. The laptop comes in 100% recycled or renewable packaging and carries ENERGY STAR and EPEAT Gold with Climate+ certifications.

Dell has officially unveiled its all-new Dell Pro Plus Earbuds in the Indian market. The earbuds are said to be designed for professional communication.

Dell Pro Plus earbuds: Features

The earbuds feature 11.6mm drivers and an AI-powered noise-cancelling microphone. It offers Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation that adjusts automatically to surrounding noise levels. There is also an enhanced transparency mode for users who need to stay connected with their surroundings. It comes with four tip sizes (XS, S, M, L) and supports touch controls.

It supports Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, pairing up to 8 devices and simultaneous connection to two hosts. The earbuds arrive with an IP54 rating. A few days back, during a visit to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab), U.S. Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright officially announced a new contract with Dell Technologies to develop NERSC-10, the next flagship supercomputer at the National Energy Research Computing Center (NERSC), a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) user facility at Berkeley Lab.

The new system, due in 2026, is revealed to be named after Jennifer Doudna, the Berkeley Lab-based biochemist. The new supercomputer, a Dell Technologies system powered by NVIDIA’s next-generation Vera Rubin platform, will be engineered to support large-scale high-performance computing (HPC) workloads like those in molecular dynamics, high-energy physics, and AI training and inference.

It is said that Doudna will be one of the most advanced supercomputers ever deployed by the Department, advancing US leadership in the global race for AI. The department has also mentioned on the X platform that AI is the next Manhattan Project.

A new Dell wireless speaker is soon coming to the market and it has now made it to the UL Solutions certification platform. Via this listing, the renders, schematic diagrams, and a few other details concerning the upcoming device have been revealed.

Dell ‘SL525’ Wireless Speaker – Revealed Renders, Schematic Diagrams, and Other Details 

The upcoming Dell wireless speaker (or speaker phone as mentioned on the certification report), with model number – ‘SL525’, from appearance has a very compact design. It features a circular overall look, with a flat bottom. At the bottom of the speaker, we can also find that this speaker has been certified by the CMIIT and FCC authorities. The power on/off button, Bluetooth pairing button, and LED light indicator are also present at the bottom. The top portion of the speaker has a mesh-like appearance with five tap controls for various functions including calling capabilities.

We are also able to find the battery images of the speaker too among the revealed images. It is cylindrical in shape, bearing the model number – ‘A0750’. The battery is a rechargeable Li-ion battery with a rated battery capacity of 3100 mAh.

If you are a Dell laptop user with Windows 10 Pro 64 installed, you might have come across an error that states, “Power surge on the USB port – Unknown USB Device needs more power than the port can supply”. This article will give you a detailed walkthrough of how to solve this error.

On expanding the above-mentioned error, a new message appears which states, “Powe surge on the USB port – A USB device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of its hub port. You should disconnect this device.”

The cause of this error is the USB device causing a power surge message when plugged into the USB port. The products that are affected by this issue as listed on the official support page of Dell are Inspiron, Latitude, Vostro, XPS, and Latitude E7450.

Now let’s go through the solution for the same.

First of all, you will have to follow the on-screen directions. The on-screen directions initially command:

1. Disconnect all USB peripheral items, then Click the Reset button on the screen using the system touchpad and touchpad buttons.
2. Once reset, it is recommended that you reboot the system then reconnect the USB device and see if the error recurs.

If the issue doesn’t get solved, after following the above-mentioned steps, follow the below-mentioned steps:

• You will have to type cmd in the Windows search bar and then press Enter. This will open a command prompt.
• Next, type exe -id DeviceDiagnostic and press Enter. This will open the Windows Troubleshooter.
• After that click on Hardware and Devices and select
• Next, click on Run the Troubleshooter and choose to run the tool as an Administrator.
• Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Following that, if no issues are discovered, uninstall and reinstall all the USB controllers by following the below-mentioned steps:

• First of all, disconnect the USB device from your laptop.
• Press the Windows Logo + R keys on your keyboard type msc in the Run Command box and press Enter. Doing this will open the Device Manager.
• Next, expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
• Then, Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers After that, click on Uninstall to remove them one by one.
• After uninstalling, restart your PC and Windows will reinstall the USB controller drivers automatically.
• Then plug in the USB device and check if your issue is solved.

However, if the issue persists with a specific device, even after following the above-mentioned procedures, the device probably requires more power than the USB port on your PC is capable of providing. Thus, you can use a USB Hub which comes with a dedicated power source. You will have to connect the Powered USB Hub to the system USB port and the USB device to the powered USB Hub.
