The app offers cash awards up to ₹50,000 for the most active participants each month.

The Traffic Sentinel Scheme, which was first introduced in 2015, allowed users to report violations using their smartphones in exchange for reward points, often redeemable for goods or vouchers. On September 1, 2024, the app was relaunched as the Traffic Prahari app, with new incentives and a more user-friendly interface.

To report a violation such as red light jumping, illegal parking, road rage, or driving on the wrong side, simply snap a photo or record a video showing the timestamp and location. Uploading the evidence via the app, it is directly sent to the Delhi Traffic Police for verification. Each valid report can lead to an official challan being issued. All reports are carefully checked to prevent misuse.

The Traffic Prahari app includes real-time reporting, automatic capture of time and location data, and a transparent reward system. Users must not confront violators or tamper with the evidence; only unedited reports are accepted. The top four contributors every month may receive ₹50,000, ₹25,000, ₹15,000, and ₹10,000, respectively, based on the number of valid, verified reports they submit. Users can track the status of their reports and monthly points within the app.

The Traffic Prahari app is free to download and available for all Android and iOS users in Delhi. The initiative is to make roads safer while giving residents a chance to play an active role in traffic enforcement.

It is expected to jump to 700 million in FY25 in comparison to 507 million in 2021. It means the Indian gaming market cant to be neglected, Sony PlayStation seems to have understood this earlier than other companies and that’s why it’s doing promotional events in India. One that recently took place in which we saw a giant-sized PlayStation 5 model, along with a giant-sized Mjölnir model, placed right in the center of Cyberhub, Gurugram

But being known to the pulse of the market, how could Sony stop here, so it has arrived with its first PlayStation-only store in the country. Residents of Delhi can visit the PlayStation-only store and check it out. It can be found at DT Zone, Punjabi Bagh, Delhi. As of now no other information is available about its next store in India but as soon as it will arrive you will be notified.

Also, if you are unable to follow the tech-savvy methods, you can use the writing method too. Just express your interest in the subsidy in writing, and then your next electricity bill will come with a physical form which you can fill up and submit at the nearest electricity office. Just repeat this submission every year to continue your subsidy benefits.

The Delhi residents will have to opt-in for the power subsidy from October 1. Accordingly, the government has already opened the applications of the subsidies along with a helpline number for the residents to avail the benefits. All the electricity users are offered a subsidy, however, they will have to apply for it before September 30.

Accordingly, this scheme is valid for one year and the users can get it renewed every year. Every Delhi residents will get a form along with their electricity bill in the September month, which the users will have to fill if they want to avail the subsidy benefits on electricity. For example, if you apply in September, you will get subsidy from October. Similarly, if you apply in October, you will get subsidy in November.

Also, the state government has apparently, organised the awareness camps in each district to make the subsidy instructions clear to the public.

Currently, those whose power consumption is less than 200 units, do not have to pay any electricity charges in Delhi. However, those who consume around 400 units get a 50% subsidy of up to Rs 800. The Delhi government has also made compulsory for the people to opt in for the subsidy to continue getting the benefits.

Now, the main question which arises is how to avail a power subsidy in Delhi?

See step-by-step guide here:

Firstly, the users will have to give a missed call on 7011311111.

After calling, you will get a form on your registered email ID.

Just fill out the form and send it. You will get the subsidy in the next month’s electricity bill for online bills.

Also, the users will receive a hyperlink with their e-bill

Just click on the link and fill in the details and then click on ‘Submit’.

And for offline bills,

With every bill, the users will receive a consent form.

Fill in your mobile number and voter ID number and then sign the form.

Afterwards, at your nearest billing centre, visit the subsidy counter and submit the filled form.

The users are advised to submit the forms before the last date of a month to avail the benefits of the subsidy in the next month.

Also, if any consumer misses the filling out the consent form in the next two months, they can apply for a subsidy in the month of October. Consequently, the form has to be filled out before the next billing cycle by the users.

Accordingly, the purpose of launching this scheme is to offer the subsidy for electricity to the households, willing to avail it. The underprivileged or poor households, who have suffered a lot of financial problems can be helped by the electricity subsidy scheme from power department. Due to the inflation and the pandemic situation, the citizens have suffered a lot, financially. And to raise the financial situation in the state, the Delhi government has made this huge decision for the benefit of the citizens.

While age is a consideration, a diesel vehicle’s mileage has an impact as well and can render a vehicle unfit well before the age at which it should be discarded. The investigation focused on 460 diesel vehicles that were registered at the many RTOs in the capital city.

The vehicles’ failure to meet BS-IV emission standards after 7.5 years or 95,000 kilometers was found. When a vehicle turns 9 years old or has 1,25,000 kilometers on it, it no longer complies with BS-III.

If vehicles did not meet BS-III requirements, owners would not be able to get a pollution certification for them before the mandatory 10-year scrapping age. Even while the forecast age for BS-III violation is close to the benchmark of 10 years, the chance of BS-IV violation at just 75 years old should be cause for alarm.

The study also found that regular upkeep significantly affects when a diesel vehicle no longer complies with BS-IV emission requirements. Currently, there are 9 lakh diesel vehicles on Delhi’s roads, and due to strict BS-IV cutoffs, only 50 HSU are allowed to be discharged for each vehicle.

According to the BS-III criteria, this used to be 65 HSU units. The results significantly suggest changing the scrapping policy to consider a car’s mileage, even though only 5 to 8% of Delhi’s whole population of diesel cars have BS-III type engines.

But what about properly maintained private vehicles? A co-researcher named Abhinav Pandey asserts that BS-IV and BS-III compliance was found in older diesel vehicles with higher mileage. Maintenance-related factors include engine tuning, regular maintenance, and proper maintenance of emission control equipment like catalytic converters and diesel particle filters that capture gaseous pollutants and PM 2.5 and PM10 particulates produced by diesel engines.

The prank was made by the coach and his teammates.

“We were playing in an U17 match in Punjab. He (Kohli) hadn’t been scoring big in the past 2 – 3 innings. We had a coach named Ajit Chaudhary who used to call him ‘Cheeku’. Virat was the main player of our team, and Ajit sir funnily suggested, ‘let’s tell him he will not play in the next match’. We all joined in on the prank,” Sangwan said in an interview with News24.

“In the team meeting, sir didn’t announce Virat’s name. He went to his room and started crying! He phone – called sir and said I’ve scored a 200 and a 250… he had scored big in that season, to be honest. It’s just that he didn’t get enough runs in the past 2 – 3 innings. He got so emotional he even phone – called Rajkumar sir (Virat’s childhood coach).

“Then, he came to me and asked, ‘Tell me Sangwan, what’s wrong? I scored so many runs this season’. I told him, ‘Yes yes, that’s very wrong!’. He wasn’t able to sleep all night as well. He said, “No, I don’t want to sleep. What’s the point of sleeping when I’m not playing?’ Then, I told him that he’s playing. It was all a prank!” he said.

Pradeep Sangwan has been part of many IPL franchises and was also a part of Gujarat Titans that won the TATA IPL 2022

On May 24, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched 150 e-buses. To promote clean mobility, the Kejriwal government promised free e-bus transportation for everybody from May 24 to 26. MLAs, as well as Delhi’s top brass, have been riding in the e-buses for the past three days to see and appraise the facilities.

Around one lakh individuals actually travelled in electric buses for free of cost on three days on May 24, 25, and 26, as per Delhi government data. Women account for 40% of the total. On the first day, on May 24, roughly 12 thousand individuals travelled. Around 28 thousand persons travelled on May 25. In addition, on May 26, around 52 thousand passengers were given free transportation.

The fact that electric buses are pollution-free is their most appealing feature. The operation of these buses produces no emissions. These buses are also noiseless, in addition to being zero emission. They are also outfitted with GPS devices, ramps for the disabled, panic buttons, CCTV cameras, and other security-related features. 51 buses operate from the Mundelakan depot, while 99 buses operate from the Rohini Sector-37 depot.

CM Arvind Kejriwal also launched a selfie contest to raise awareness about e-buses by taking photographs in the new electric bus fleet. This competition will be open till June 30th. On social media, a selfie contest called #IrideEbus is being held, in which riders will post a selfie while riding an electric bus. The three contestants with the highest likes and shares will be honored by the Delhi government and get an iPad as a prize.
