With the launch of Windows 11, Microsoft is also making Windows Terminal the standard terminal. If Windows Terminal version 1.15 or higher is installed, all command-line applications (including Command Prompt and PowerShell) now open in Windows Terminal by default. By heading to Settings > Privacy & security > For developers, you can still disable this option.

Microsoft has also fixed several issues in this edition, however, there is a brand-new issue that stops apps that rely on the.NET Framework 3.5 from working properly. If your apps utilize this version of the.NET Framework, Microsoft warns against using this build.

All Insiders on the Dev Channel will see adverts in search results after Microsoft releases an update for the Microsoft Store. In search results, Microsoft Store Ads are presently being tested. The Windows Insider team says that developers who want to get on the waitlist can do so here.

Additionally, on Sunday, Microsoft made the Windows 11 build 22621.457 accessible to Insiders via the Release Preview Channel. Users can now view the usage history of several resources, including the Camera and the Microphone, in the Settings app. Last but not least, the updated parts include improvements for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and SMB compression.
