Iran saw significant protests for many days after the brutal prison death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. In response, Anonymous ended its inaction and launched the OPIRan. Spid3r, the inventor of KromSec and an agent of Anonymous, alone brought down several websites after the discovery.

The 22-year-old Iranian lady from the Kurdistan area died on Friday in Tehran, according to authorities and state media, after suffering a stroke and many heart attacks while being detained by Iran’s purported morality police because she was wearing an “improper” headscarf.

The Iranian government claims that Amini had pre-existing issues that contributed to her death, while her family disputes the claims that she was mistreated or beaten.
A video that documented the protests that erupted following Amini’s death in numerous Iranian cities was made public early on Wednesday.

The two main websites of the Iranian government appear to have been the principal targets of the attacks. The first is the “smart services” website of the government, which provides a range of online services, while the second is devoted to disseminating government news and official interviews. All databases have been deleted, claims a social media entity that is believed to be affiliated with Anonymous.

The Iranian government has not issued an official response to the allegations or attacks.
Other websites were also attacked, including the Iranian state television website, which was down for a period. The websites frequently went offline on Wednesday morning before coming back up, indicating a struggle between hackers and website maintenance.

Kurdistan’s governor, Esmail Zarei Kousha, asserts that three deaths have occurred thus far during the demonstrations. The official, however, asserted that the deaths were “strange” and seemed to be an attempt by “anti-revolutionary” elements to sow unrest across the country. According to state media on Wednesday, protests over Amini’s passing had broken out in 15 Iranian towns.

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February, numerous pro-Ukraine and pro-Russian hacker groups have interfered with a variety of Ukrainian and Russian institutions.

The Pentagon serves as the administrative hub for the US Department of Defense. It was constructed quickly during World War II. Because it is a manifestation of the American military, the word “The Pentagon” is widely used as a metonym for the Department of Defense and its leadership.

Earlier, Anonymous Russia also made a similar comment, threatening The Pentagon. Known for its numerous cyberattacks against various countries, government institutions, government agencies, and corporations, Anonymous is a decentralized, transnational activist and hacktivist collective and movement.

On a Tweet posted by Cyber know, it was seen that The Phoenix had posted a picture with Joe Biden in it and wrote “Pentagon, America Tell me where to buy Vaseline” which indicated that they were making fun of the US President Joe Biden.

Cellebrite provides cybersecurity tools for federal, state, and local law enforcement as well as for companies and enterprises. The company provides services to collect, review, analyze, and manage digital data.

Cellebrite Universal Forensic Extraction Device, a product of Cellebrite used by law enforcement agencies shares its code with Cellebrite Mobilogy. The anonymous source has leaked data of both Cellebrite Mobilogy and the Cellebrite Team Foundation Server. Around 3.6 TB of data has been compromised and leaked from Cellebrite Mobilogy which is mainly used for device diagnostics, content transfer, backup, and restoration. The data is being made available to journalists and researchers.

Another cyber attack targeted Cellebrite Team Foundation Server’s backup files leaking 430 GB of data. Team Foundation Server provides a collaborative environment and it has been replaced by Azure DevOps Server used to share code, track work, and ship software that uses integrated software delivery tools hosted on the platform. This data has also been made available to journalists and researchers only.

However, the anonymous source hasn’t been recognized yet and any other hacker group didn’t claim responsibility for the recent cyber attack on Cellebrite. The methods of hacking haven’t been revealed either. Although Cellebrite has been the target of several cyber attacks since 2017. In January 2017 anonymous hacker allegedly leaked 900 GB of stolen data from Cellebrite and the data contained information regarding the political situations of various countries. According to an FBI investigation in February 2017, a hacker released a large amount of cache of Cellebrite’s most sensitive data, and that involved Cellebrite hacking into older iPhones, Androids, and Blackberry smartphones. Even Callebrite has been termed as a ‘hacking firm’ previously claiming to use phone hacking technology similar to NSO Group.

Although the recent hacking event of Cellebrite has been posted by a Twitter account named Soufiane Tahiri.

Sherzod Asadov, the press secretary for President Mirziyoyev, announced on Telegram on Saturday that the Republic of Karakalpakstan would be under a state of emergency from just after midnight on Sunday (19:00 GMT on Saturday) until August 2.

According to the current Uzbek constitution, Karakalpakstan is a sovereign republic inside Uzbekistan with the authority to secede through a popular vote.

The revised constitution would no longer refer to Karakalpakstan’s sovereignty or right to secede, and Uzbekistan aims to take a public vote on it in the upcoming months.

But in a prompt response to the outcry, Mirziyoyev declared on Saturday while visiting Karakalpakstan that the revisions to the reform’s proposed status must be withdrawn, according to a statement from his office.

The government of Karakalpakstan announced earlier on Saturday that police had detained several additional protestors who had shown resistance as well as the protest’s organisers.

The anonymous collective has since posted several videos of the protests happening in Uzbekistan. These videos are graphic and viewers’ discretion is advised.

Since then there have been several incidents of hacking on Russian websites both government and privately funded. Recently, a Twitter account named Darkbloom claimed that they have “compromised” the website of Russian IT company obit(.)ru.

Darkbloom is administrated by a group of hactivists. They have been claiming to breach multiple sites across Russia. They are even posting proof of activities on their Twitter account.

They also tagged other two Anonymous collectives on their accounts such as Cyberknow20 and PucksReturn. Three of these accounts are currently raging a cyberwar against Russia as detected from the tweets they produce.

Russia has been attacking Ukrainian with DDoS jeopardizing 100 million devices ahead of the invasion. Ukrainian Defense Ministry and Private Bank, Ukraine’s largest commercial bank has been imperiled. Russia also played a heinous role in destroying Ukrainian computers. UK’s National Cyber Security Centre said, “The cyber activity from Russia against Ukraine has been there, but is consistent with Russia’s cyber harassment of the country going back years.”

Anonymous stated on Twitter over the weekend that it has successfully hacked many Russian websites, including Pravdapskov, the Russian Ministry of Construction, and MegaFon, the country’s second-largest mobile phone operator and third-largest telecom operator. All three websites are still unavailable as of this writing.

A cyber-attack was also conducted against the Vyberi Radio organization, which owns and runs 100 radio stations in 18 Russian cities. On DDoSecrets, Anonymous revealed over 1.5 million emails obtained from the radio group. During Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February, Anonymous vowed to unleash a cyber war against the Kremlin. On Sunday, the organization also hacked the Russian Federation’s Central Bank (CBR). The bank’s primary job is to maintain the Russian ruble’s stability. Anonymous gained control of the “Russian software system” that runs CBR as a result of the cyber-attack. In addition, the group disclosed confidential bank data, including “secret agreements.”

The hacker group also targeted Rosatom, Russia’s state-run nuclear energy giant, in May. Anonymous gained access to almost 800,000 documents, including information about the company’s affiliates and clients, as a result of the hack. A total of 5.63 GB of data from Rosatom was exposed by the organization.

As per the sources, we also came to know that Anonymous successfully breached Rosatom for the 2nd attempt in less than three months in May. The hacker group leaked 15.3 GB of data from the firm in March. An email address housed on the free encrypted mail provider ProtonMail, as well as personal information and passport details of the nuclear energy company’s clients, were among the data.

Furthermore, Anonymous also hacked Tetraedr, a Belarus-based weapons manufacturer, in February. Anonymous had access to over 200 GB of emails, PDF designs for weapons systems, and armoured vehicle brochures as a result of the hack, which was later published on DDoSecrets. Belarus’ largest trading partner is Russia. Belarus has likewise sided with Russia in the Ukraine conflict.
