August 16 is the deadline.

Vodafone Idea is delayed in launching the 5G services because of the absence of funding. Vodafone Idea is the only one among the telecom operators who is yet to launch their 5G services.

They are currently testing their 5G services across cities such as Delhi and Pune. The commercial deployment of 5G services by Vodafone Idea will start once they place the order with the equipment makers.

In the annual report for FY23, Vodafone Idea said that they have made select 5G clusters in Delhi and Pune where they have partnered with various original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to test the compatibility of available 5G handsets. They have completed device testing of all major OEMs on their 5G network.

Vodafone Idea has also said that it will continue to make investments in expanding 4G coverage and capacity, especially in its 17 priority circles and will introduce 5G services as soon as the funding is in place.

The telecom operators will have to commercially launch services anywhere in the metro as well as non-metro cities as per the year-one 5G roll-out obligations set by the Indian Government.

This means in a circle like Delhi, the services can be made available just in one area and not the entire city. The same way is expected to be done in the non-metro circle too.

Vodafone Idea or Vi is an Indian mobile network operator with its headquarters based in Mumbai and Gandhinagar. As of March 31, 2023, Vi has a subscriber base of 225.90 million, which makes it the third-largest mobile telecommunications network in the world.

The company was created on August 31, 2018, by the merging of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular to form the now-called Vodafone Idea.

On the 5G network, internet capacity and speed will be at least ten times higher than they are on the 4G network.

India has now joined a select club of countries, including the US, Korea, UK, Japan, China, and countries in Europe, that provide 5G networks.

The adoption of 5G technology will have a significant positive impact on society. It will be possible to achieve large data speeds, extremely low latency, and extremely reliable communication.

Some of the locations where this service has started to run include Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Madras, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. The 5G network is now operational as of October 1. Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone-Idea launched this service in India initially. Initially, confirm that your outdated phone is compatible with the 5G network.

Airtel first told its customers that they simply needed to make sure their mobile handset supported 5G technology rather than switching from their present 4G SIM card to a 5G card.

Here is how you can check if your phone supports 5G or not.

To check if your phone is a 5G phone or not, Airtel users should use their mobile device to go to Google Play and download the Airtel Thanks app. The 5G Plus banner will then appear on the front page of the app when you launch it after that. Whether or not your phone supports 5G will be indicated here.

After tapping the banner, a new page will open. If you reside in one of the cities where this service was first offered, the company will explain. Additionally, the business will examine the mobile device’s 5G compatibility. Airtel will now request that you visit the settings. You can select 5G as your preferred network by clicking here to enter the settings’ network tab. After that, 5G signals will start to reach phones.
