Starship Single-Engine Static Fire Test to Demonstrate In-Space Burn Successful: Launch Targeted in Mid-August 2025

The American space technology company headed by Elon Musk – SpaceX recently moved the Starship spacecraft for testing to the Starbase site in Boca Chica, Texas before its 10th test flight. It has now been reported that its single-engine static fire demonstration was a success and the spacecraft is being targeted for a launch sometime in mid-August 2025.

Here’s more about the update.

Starship Targeted to Launch in Mid-August 2025 for its 10th Test Flight

The Starship spacecraft of SpaceX as already known is the largest and the most powerful rocket made by humanity and its primary goal is to help in colonizing Mars. It stands 122 meters tall, and is made out of stainless steel with two major parts: the upper stage spacecraft – ‘Spaceship’ or simply referred to as the ‘Ship’, and the booster that is called ‘Super Heavy’. Do note that the Starship spacecraft which was recently moved and now tested is the second one that is being prepared for the 10th test flight after the first exploded in the same test back in June 2025.

In the most latest test that was conducted, the second Starship spacecraft successfully demonstrated its single-engine static fire for a complete in-space burn, while being anchored to the Pad 1 launchpad at the Starbase facility in Texas. This latest update was shared via the official X handle of SpaceX and re-sharing it, Elon Musk himself announced that a launch in mid-August 2025 is being targeted for the Starship spacecraft.
