Jio Expands its 5G Services to 7 More Cities in India: Here’s More About it

Jio is in the race with Airtel to expand its 5G services throughout the country and has now brought its 5G network services to 7 more cities in India.

7 More Cities in India Receive Jio’s 5G Network Services

With this cycle, Jio has expanded its 5G network services to seven more cities in six North Eastern states of India. Starting from the 27th of January 2023, Jio users in these 7 cities will be able to use Jio’s 5G network services on their devices.

The 7 cities included in this cycle are Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, Imphal in Manipur, Shillong in Meghalaya, Aizawl in Mizoram, Kohima and Dimapur in Nagaland, and Agartala in Tripura.

After receiving the Welcome Offer from Jio, customers in these seven cities will be able to use the 5G services of Jio, which will give its users more than 1Gbps of data speed without any additional charges.

Jio users who have subscribed to prepaid plans of 239 and more will be able to use its 5G services. Other users will have to pay an additional 61 rupees to avail of 5G services.

Jio with this cycle has expanded its 5G services to a total of 191 cities all across India. Its services are now available in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Puducherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

Jio’s spoke person after the launch also mentioned how Jio was able to expand its 5G network services to 191 cities in less than four months and how they use stand-alone (SA) mode for deploying its 5G services while its rival, Airtel still uses a non-standalone (NSA) mode for deploying its 5G services.
