LockBit Ransomware collective pays their first $50K bug bounty! Know why

The LockBit Ransomeware collective conducted a bug bounty programe in which the gang offered money to those people who were able to encrypt the files that were decrypted by the lockbit ransomware.

It was one of the most difficult work to execute the encryption of the files that were decrypted by LockBit Ransomware. However, one of the person was able to do it. And, according to darkfeed, the Lockbit ransomware collective paid their first $50K bug bounty to him.

Accordingly, the person stated that it was possible to decrypt any VMDK/VHDX file, encrypted by Lockbit. The person got inside the information related to some FBI agents and were able to find out the weakness in encryption and fixed it.

Accordingly, a bug bounty program is a deal that is offered by many of the websites, organizations and software developers by which the individuals can receive a compensation for reporting bugs.
