Anonymous leaked 285,635 private emails from the Nauru Police Force

In total, Anonymous leaked 285,635 private emails from the Nauru Police Force on the tiny island of Nauru, which is famous for being used by Australia as an offshore refugee holding camp in exchange for help.

The Anonymous collective released 82GB of emails allegedly belonging to the Nauru Police Force on Monday, May 2nd, 2022. The data breach, according to Anonymous, was in protest of suspected ill-treatment of asylum seekers and refugees by Island officials acting on behalf of the Australian government.

Nauru is a small island country in Micronesia, northeast of Australia, best known for being used as an offshore refugee detention centre in exchange for aid by Australia.

We are asking the newly elected Australian government to by the end of 2022:

~ End the policy of mandatory immigration detention and permanently close
immigration detention facilities, including on the island Nauru.

~ Grant permanent residence to all asylum seekers, including the 124 people
forcibly moved out from Manus Island.

~ Investigate all allegations of abuse in the immigration detention centres
and pay lifetime repairations to victims.
