A YouTuber opens 6k Google Chrome tabs on Mac Pro with 1.5TB of RAM

Who would have wondered that you can buy Apple’s Mac Pro with up to 1.5TB of RAM? Yes, it’s 1.5TB of RAM. That’s much more than the storage capacity of most people’s systems nowadays. That’s exactly the kind of monster that Apple has built here.

One quick question, what would you do if you have 1.5TB of RAM in your system? Would you open about 6,000 tabs in Google Chrome? At least that’s what this YouTube creator did.

YouTuber Jonathan Morrison wanted to check the maximum capacity of his Mac Pro with 1.5TB of RAM. To do so, he wrote an automated script to run a bunch of websites on a loop. The end result is a fully decked out Google Chrome with 6,000 tabs.

Firstly, it is surprising that Google Chrome did not crash past the 100 Chrome tabs. But spoiler alert, both the Mac Pro and Google Chrome handled the task very well before giving up.

It was found that one can easily open about 5,000 tabs in Google Chrome without any issues. But anything above that, it can be dangerous.

Now, you’re probably wondering how much does it cost to fit 1.5TB would RAM in a Mac Pro. As long as you’re not asking Apple to do it, you’ll be spending less.

You’ll have to go for a third-party option like Morrison did. That being said, it could still be very expensive.
