Google to discontinue its dark web report feature starting 16th February 2026

Google has officially announced on its support page that it has decided to discontinue the dark web report feature in February 2026. This feature was launched so that users can scan the dark web for their personal information.
According to the company, this feature is discontinued as users’ feedback showed that this tool didn’t provide helpful next steps. It stated that, “We’re making this change to instead focus on tools that give you more clear, actionable steps to protect your information online.” It is revealed that from 15 January 2026, the scans for new dark web breaches will stop, while on 16 February 2026, all data related to the dark web report will be deleted.
If you want, you can also delete your data ahead of the mentioned date (16 February 2026). Go through Google’s support page to check out the steps for deleting your monitoring profile.
To strengthen security and privacy, Google has advised using the existing tools, like-
- Security Checkup
- Create a Passkey to Log into Your Google Account
- Authentication tools for secure Sign-in Google Safety Center
- Google Password Manager
- Password checkup
- Results about you (helps to find and request the removal of your personal information from Google Search results)
