Beware of the New Google Forms Scam!
While not entirely new, the Google Forms scam has been tricking people lately by offering them free cryptocurrencies as a fake promise. As most of us are already familiar with Google Forms surveys, and because users trust it blindly, scammers can easily gain the attention of potential victims by easily passing through filters. With the free cryptocurrency promise as the cherry on top, users without even thinking twice give away their personal details and thereby unknowingly they allow themselves to get scammed. As always, these scams offer free goodies that are too good to be true, and via the Google Forms, scammers take victims to a fake website from where users are asked for their wallet details and other personal info.
So what can be done? The first and foremost thing to keep in mind is to not click on any links that come in front of you without looking close twice. Typing in personal information like wallet details and more are also never a recommended practice, and always make sure that the platform is genuine by looking at the URL or by verifying the necessary contents. Also, always understand that there are no free prizes and that everything comes with a price. Users may also set the phrase – ‘Create your own Google Form’ on scam filters of their email account, however this will drop important mails too into the scam folder as all Google Forms has this phrase in it.
Another thing to do is that, warn all your loved ones, family members, friends, and everyone you know and let them know of such as a scam that could take away all their hard earned crypto assets and more.
