Rishika Nayak Shetty’s Sass Bar on Shark Tank; here is her success story

The Sass Bar is a Mumbai based soap startup, this startup idea was started from a household in 2019 and became quite popular after seeing the idea. This startup makes homemade soaps, which have an amazing and fragment smell.

The soap has a lot of fragrances like lilac, rose, raspberry, Argentine lemon and lots more. On top of this, no harmful chemicals are used in this soap, only natural ingredients are used in this. The average price of the soap is Rs. 250.

A middle class family girl, hailing from Mumbai, she has done her Bachelor in Business Administration from Northumbria University, afterwards she completed her master’s degree from Istituto Marangoni, London, United Kingdom. Upon completing her studies, she worked in many companies and then started her own business.

Sass Bar in Shark Tank

Rishika had pitched the idea of her product in Shark Tank India in season 1. She asked for Rs. 40 lakhs in exchange for an 8% share of his company in Shark Tank India. ‘Shark’s’ Anupam Mittal and Ghazal Alagh have shown a lot of interest in the business and they have some rules about investing in this startup. Both of them have finalized this deal for Rs. 50 lakhs in exchange of 35% equity shares.

The Sass Bar continues to be a self care brand that has a special touch, which can be touched in an emotional connect, the soaps are a mix of vibrant colours and an eccentric dessert theme to make them truly pop!

“I always knew I didn’t want to work for somebody or do a 9:00 to 5:00 job. I did it for a couple of years and knew it wasn’t working out for me. The whole process from creating the brand, products, packaging design is super exciting”, said owner Rishika.
