TECNO Confirms HiOS 16 (Android 16) Global Roll-Out; Timeline and Eligible Devices Revealed

HiOS Global, via its official Instagram account, has confirmed the rollout of the HiOS 16 (Android 16-based) software. The announcement also includes the list of eligible smartphones that are set to receive this update.
Looking back, HiOS 16 was first teased in January 2026 and later showcased at MWC 2026.

TECNO HiOS 16 (Android 16-Based) – Update Roll-Out Timeline
As per the official update plan, the HiOS 16 update will be released in three different phases throughout 2026. This will cover multiple CAMON, POVA, and PHANTOM series devices.
Scheduled for Q2 2026 (April to June):

- CAMON 40 Pro 5G
- CAMON 40 5G
Scheduled for Q3 2026 (July to September):
- CAMON 30 Premier 5G
- CAMON 30 Pro 5G
- CAMON 30 5G
- CAMON 30S Pro
- POVA 7 Pro 5G
- POVA 7 5G
- POVA 7
- POVA 7 Neo
Scheduled for Q4 2026 (October to December):
- PHANTOM V Fold2 5G
- PHANTOM V Flip2 5G
Speaking more about the update, the new HiOS 16 version is said to bring several improvements. These include faster app launch speeds, along with a refined AI assistant named “Ella”. Additionally, TECNO has also introduced a new “Superfluidity” design, which focuses on delivering smoother system animations and overall UI transitions.

The update schedule is expected to be more or less similar for other regions as well, including India. That said, it would be better to wait for TECNO India to officially announce the same.
