Samsung Galaxy F23 5G now receiving January 2026 Security Patch Update in India, with Update Support reaching End of Life in March 2026

We all know that the Galaxy F23 5G has already received its last OS upgrade—One UI 6.1 based on Android 14—and is still receiving its regular security patch updates. The last update was rolled out in December with the November 2025 security patch, and now a new update with the January 2026 patch is being rolled out in the India region. Though the Galaxy F23 5G has a quarterly update policy, Samsung has released this update early.

The total downloadable size of the update is 337.62 MB and comes with One UI 6.1 based on Android 14. The version number is E236BXXSDEZA1 / E236BODMDEZA1 / E236BXXSDEZA1. Looking at the changelog, it doesn’t mention anything specific apart from stating that the device is protected with improved security.

Now, after you have received and installed this update, you won’t be able to downgrade due to updates in the security policy.

Though this is just a security patch update and doesn’t delete your data, it’s always advisable to back up before updating your device. Since it was launched in March 2022, it will continue receiving security patch updates until March 2026. After that, the device will reach its end of life, and as per the update policy, no more updates will be provided.
